🧵 ADHD IQ test?

Anonymous No. 16617611

I know that IQ tests are used to help diagnose ADHD. Which parts specifically, and is there any way to get this tested (by a professional) without the risk of any sort of diagnosis? What particular profile would a person with ADHD have compared to a normal person?

I just took the CAIT on cognitivemetrics and I scored way, WAY lower on the digit span test than I did on everything else.

Well if 4chan Anonymous himself says so, I’m sure it’s fake. The Jews must made it up to subvert hyperborean aryan civilization.

>The incapacity of attending with a necessary degree of constancy to any one object, almost always arises from an unnatural or morbid sensibility of the nerves, by which means this faculty is incessantly withdrawn from one impression to another. It may be either born with a person, or it may be the effect of accidental diseases.
>When born with a person it becomes evident at a very early period of life, and has a very bad effect, inasmuch as it renders him incapable of attending with constancy to any one object of education. But it seldom is in so great a degree as totally to impede all instruction; and what is very fortunate, it is generally diminished with age.
>In this disease of attention, if it can with propriety be called so, every impression seems to agitate the person, and gives him or her an unnatural degree of mental restlessness. People walking up and down the room, a slight noise in the same, the moving of a table, the shutting a door suddenly, a slight excess of heat or of cold, too much light, or too little light, all destroy constant attention in such patients, inasmuch as it is easily excited by every impression.

Funny how germs didn't exist before the microscope was invented. Absolutely no other explanation exists for why increased counts of observations coincide with increased ability to observe

I'm diagnosed combined type and I have an IQ of 125+ (Mensa). ADHD has nothing to do with IQ.

Then why are IQ tests used to diagnose adhd

Anonymous No. 16620127

I had to do an IQ test when I was being evaluated considering having ADHD.
What the expected result was, I do not know, perhaps you can tell me?

Idk how it is where you live but here they diagnose people with adhd questionnaires, not IQ tests.
ADHD is comorbid with many birth defects, but the presence of intellectual disability does not necessarily imply the presence of ADHD.
There have been studies which have shown that people with ADHD score lower on IQ tests, but these results are complex because they don't account for the fact that ADHD is underdiagnosed in high IQ people because they are often able to compensate their fucked brain with effort. Vice versa, little jimmy with all D's in elementary school is more likely to get sent to the shrink, so low IQ people are overrepresented in ADHD diagnoses.
