Reason appears to be about rather than part of the webs and chains of causes and effects in the physical world. Now if reason is part of rather than about: why do mathematicians and scientists pretend to arrive at solutions and conclusions through reason as if reason is a detached choice rather than just a natural happening of causes and effects in the physical world like emotions, burping, farting and hard-ons?

Why does using reason imply that it can't be a "natural happening cause and effects"? Are you mentally retarded?

>using reason
If you're a scientist then you're not using reason you're just reporting the happening of a natural event in your brain just like you report emotions. Yet you pretend that your argument is superior because it's reasonable but your reasonable argument has the same basis as your emotions. How do you even know which came first: the emotion or the reasonable argument? Maybe all reason is just backwards, afterwards, slow and clumsy explaining what you already intuited. Don't you think that's a problem for enlightenment values?

No one cares about the exact working of your brain when you're using reason or being retarded. There is a clear difference in the types of brain processes which go on in the two cases and it is because of that difference that only one of them leads to the development of successful scientific theories.

>predict or bust
That's the name of the game. Reason, however you want to describe it, so far has unparelled prediction power.
If hypothetically it happens to come to pass that some /x/ happening start to make people just know the right answers without reasoning, then there is ground for its critique.
Until such a time rationality has no competition in the realm of empiricism.

>There is a clear difference in the types of brain processes
So you, a brain, as part of a universal web of causes and effects, are determined to trust some parts of yourself more than others and are determined to believe that the part you trust more will automatically determined by law of cause and effect tell you the truth about what you are, where you are and how the whole universe really works. So basically the universe trusts itself to tell the truth about itself through an ongoing process that is the universe itself.

Reason is something people made to better classify the world. If the world was some other way, reason would be created to fit the world.
Assuming the world was created to fit reason is nonsensical.
