why not:
>use warm wax strips for loose ends
>apply vaseline or silicone oil to create an oil barrier
>dip into saturated lime water or diluted sodium hydroxide for 1-5mins or until ouch to dissolve the silica hairs
>repeat oiling and dipping until satisfied
>rinse with vinegar
>do some more warm wax strips if needed
>add lidocaine gel and/or take some ibuprofen
>ps: all of this done asap ofc :)
im open to some actual lab owning anons willing to do some tests using silica sand or so cause i was thinking doing the following if i had the materials:
>materials: petri dish, rice paper to play as skin, silica sand, vaseline, 0.01M NaOH
>add rice paper strip covered in silica sand inside the petri dish
>add a vaseline coating to it
>pour the alkaline solution besides it so it does not disturb the oil mechanically
>check if the silica reliably dissolves before the rice paper does over time

What would happen if someone put their tongue on it?

well first off they would have to not swallow
then im sorry to say theyd be forced into the same box, but worse, choosing the strongest chronic pain posible flaring up in their mouth whenever they eat, or doing the above on the affected area but with simply much higher risk on their tissues.
If you had to choose, would you try to deal with it (mind you, people have killed themselves over this pain in areas they couldnt chop off), go for cuting the tongue off (potentially losing most of your taste, speech, and could make swallowing difficult), or risk eroding and burning your mouth intensely in order to have the chance to have an easier condition to treat or deal with
