Ooops, that one would be tricky. Need to effectively target the repeat sequence of the defective mRNA (ignoring genome editing in a grown human, even with a perfectly safe delivery vector you would need luck to even target every relevant cell successfully ... and then good luck with correct editing of the damn repeating sequence itself!). Combination of mRNA substitution and RNAi against the faulty version might be equally fuckedy because of the damn repeating sequence.

Sup anon, I'd agree too, as I'm a likely carrier of this disease. As far as I know only my grandma (mother's side) had it, but I have no idea if my mother also has it since she hasn't gotten tested for it. My only qualm with it is that I won't be able to enjoy my older years of life, but also transferring it to any possible future children I may have.
As far as I'm aware, genetic engineering hasn't gotten to the finesse of being able to treat stuff like this, but I certainly hope it one day will (for cheap if possible)!

PS. Why does it take so long to post now? I had to wait like 15 mins to get the captcha.

I have the solution.

The solution is to legally forbid people who or whose ancestors were diagnosed with it from breeding, possibly mandatory castration/ovariectomy. Just look at >>16627170
>any possible future children I may have
The evil retard is still considering breeding, despite full knowledge that their kids have a 50/50 chance of fucking dying at 30-50 with no warning, and kids of their kids, and so on.

Chill out buddy, I still haven't gotten tested and since I'm 2 generations away from my grandmother, I might not even have the genotype at all.

>The evil retard is still considering breeding
Let me re-state what I meant. My only qualm with this is that I may have to reconsider having children depending on whether I'm found to be a carrier of this disease or not.

Now stop being mean to people on the internet and go outside a little, it won't kill you I swear.
