Its still two Poles.
The external North Field still Field-returns to the South Pole at the balls centre.
The space between the same Polarity directed magnets is a valid Field return path, even if those magnets are pushed together hard.
IF instead, you magically fused together all those magnets into one seamless/continuous magnet with North outside & South Inside; then a Field return path can't be found so that magnet would be dead with no effect.
