Put the table on the right on top of the table on the left, or the other way around.
Add the two measurements measuring the top of the cat to the top of the cat, or the top of the turtle to the top of the turtle, depending on which table you put on top of the other.
170 +130 =300
Two tables = 300, one table =150.
Of course an elementary student can do it. Because they have no idea what algebra is, let alone simultaneous equations, they don't struggle to use algebra when they can use their imaginations, their eyes, and arithmetic.

anyone saying it can't be done is merely misreading the question, believing it's asking for all three. This is of course impossible as there's two equations in three unknowns, the best you can do is reduce it to the constraint that the cat is 20cm taller than the turtle. The table is of course always 150cm

What is it about millennials that makes them think that children are retarded and cannot grasp simple concepts without being baby-talked? Of course a simple linear algebra problem can be solved by a grade schooler if you show them the process. I guess blacks might not be able to grasp it, maybe that's why we have such low standards these days. I remember in second grade I got some math homework on reading the time on analog clocks. Until then I'd grown up around digital clocks and I guess my parents are fucking retarded and never taught me how to read the time on an analog clock so I didn't know the formula. So I just asked my brother and he told me how to calculate it and I was like oh that's all. And then I did it. It didn't take me ten years to learn to multiply by five. These days it's like we all have to live in a black world to make blacks feel better about themselves. I feel sorry for the turtle being tortured for this experiment. Nevertheless...

You people can't explain for shit
let the cat = a
Let the turtle = b
Let the table = c
stack the left and right tables and set up how it's all added
(a-b)+c+(b-a)+c=300
Re arrange the variables so a kid can understand
(a-b)+(b-a)+2c = 300
a-a+b-b=2c = 300
Everything cancels but 2c
c=300/2
So it's 150.
Clearly none of you have ever taught elementary schoolers.

Imagine pic on the right is stacked on top of the pic on the right. The distance from the bottom tortoise to the top tortoise is 170+130. This distance is perfectly lined up with 2 tables, offset by the height of one tortoise total on both the top and bottom. So the two tables have a total height of 300. One table is 150.

2nd equation: r + p โ q = 130 cm
sum of equations: 2*r = 300 cm
r = 150 cm

These variable assignments aren't good.

You defined them as the latter.

State the problem
T + C - U = 170
T - C + U = 130
Solve for C
C - U + 130 = -C + U + 170
C - U = -C + U + 40
2C = 2U + 40
C = U + 20
Substitute C for U + 20...
T = U + 20 - U + 130
T = 150

The answer is simple: you turn cat and turtle into caturtle chimeras. Chimeras would have the same size, so distance between tips of their heads would be the same as the table's height. Average out 170 and 130, and you get 150.

When the animal is on the bottom, it counts into the height of the table, low IQ retard.
ACTUAL ANSWER:
[math] \Delta h = |170cm-130cm| = 30cm [/math]
That's the difference of height between a cat and a turtle. You know this because the measure shown goes from the top of the cat to the top of the turtle and vice versa. Any additional length is a filler. Guess what that filler is?
Therefore, table is 150cm tall. Pure logic.
This is literally elementary grade homework. If you can't solve this, or got this wrong, you are below 120IQ and need to gtfo out of /sci/.
