🧵 How has there not been any scientific breakthroughs regarding treating male pattern baldness?

Minoxidil being able to treat hair loss was found purely by accident when trying develop something for treating high blood pressure. That was in the 1970s and then in 1997 finasteride was released as a hair loss treatment. These are the only two hair loss treatments we have in 2025. Why hasn't there been any new breakthroughs?

if you get on finasteride, even topical, when your balding starts it's really effective, it's basically the closest thing to a cure already

Duke Ellington started wearing a combover a century ago. And three centuries before that, Louis XIV started the powdered wig craze rather than accept his baldness even though he was the absolute monarch of the most powerful state on the continent and had no need to hide his receded hairline to impress anyone else.
Isn't this supposed to be the high-I.Q. part of the site? What a joke!

On the contrary retard, because he was the guy at the top he wanted to impress everybody else. The one who doesn't need to impress anybody is the homeless dude sleeping naked on the streets. You imply that you're intelligent, but you don't even understand life. Fucking idiot.

Why? Gustav II Adolph went bald in his twenties too, in the era before Louis XIV, and you didn't see him put on some silly powdered wig to impress people. He wore his bald spot openly.
Hiding your bald spot is an old tradition, and for men, always for reasons of vanity.

all sorts of schizo-ass research chemicals grow hair from industrial bleaches to plant extracts to weird synthetic pharma shit, even caffeine and cetirizine (protip: even Bryan Johnson's derpy research-chemically-challenged ass know bout this shit).

Where do you think the now amplified effect came from genius? Of course women cared about it before. Yet you think the expectations are the same now that women are allowed to go to school and watch media 24/7?

Maintain the stem cell pool’s self renewal.
Repair the dna
Proliferate without exhaustion.
Increase blood supply so they go to the right place.
Once you are 25 you don’t have the growth factor necessary and people are self damaging. Once the tissue is damaged it maybe can’t be replaced easily. So you might need a senolytic on top of what I mentioned before.

As well as you might just have some nutritional deficiency for it.
Creatine probably causes baldness in the right circumstances (stem cell exhaustion) but everyone is trying to say no. Just wait ten years when they realize it. Just taking it with the wrong things could do it.
