🧵 Can you train yourself to become ambidextrous?
Anonymous at Fri, 28 Mar 2025 15:18:44 UTC No. 16630920
Is it possible to train yourself to become equally proficient in all tasks with both hands? Or at least 90% the same?
Could a right handed person do it?
Could a left handed person do it?
Could someone with cross dominance do it?
I think it’s crazy that we know so little about handedness.

yes, you can. Like, I can do it while drawing and I'm 100% right handed.

forget the diagram, observe how it feels when you swap left click and right click. Now get used to it, now freely be capable of switching between it without delay or problem. It'll feel awkward but it will become nothing in the end
Becoming ambidextrous is essentially the same thing, just on a larger scale. All you have to do is believe in the human potential, if not yourself. Get to experiencing homie

I’m naturally ambidextrous in most areas except writing, golf, scissors, and fapping. Though I’m pretty sure those are just because I’ve done those with my left/right/right/right hand so much that it’s become habit. When I was a kid I had no preference for left or right in golf and just went with right since clubs were easier to get.
I am better with a mouse in my right hand, but I’m decent enough with my left. Mostly because I need to use my left hand for mouse control while fapping.
So, overall, I would say it is possible to train yourself into and out of handedness on specific tasks.

Easy, just practice. What is really interesting is how people can train their brain to see crude images using their tongue. Crude because of the currenlty limited way of transmitting the electrical signals to the tongue, but it works.

That's cool. Got a source or two?
Going to need to read up and visual and smellual centers in the brain too.

Are you fucking stupid? Yes. Handedness is acquired through training in the first fucking place. Have you ever observed a child's competence in basic tasks, especially writing?

Probably. I injured my right hand, my handwriting is getting much faster and better in my left and luckily I'd trained myself to use a mouse left handed. That's pretty easy too, go move your mouse to the other side of your keyboard and do it now. Within a few days it'll feel totally natural.
