Why are midwits obsessed with language learning? Why are they learning foreing languages? Do they want to banter with foreign normies?
Also they are only interested in "learning by immersion" or some bullshit like that, so it's also a stupid inneficient way of doing stuff, if it worked the US diplomants and the CIA would teach languages that way

Probably because knowing another language is extremely useful in multiple circumstances. I mean god forbid you have the capability to communicate to another person... oh wait the only people you communicate with are on this site.

Once upon a time, knowing the Bible was considered a sign of great intelligence. There were even some people who could recite it backwards. There's always some trendy memory trick that people mistake for intelligence. Knowing lots of languages is one of them. And to be fair, there is a baseline of intelligence needed to learn foreign languages after you've passed childhood, but knowing many is more about knowledge than intelligence.

Only a tiny fraction of what humanity has ever said or written is in any given language.

What, so the only valuable skills are those that will get you a job? Capitalist brainworms.

Well you can get a job for those skills because they are VALUABLE
There's a reason translation work is outsourced for 50 cents an hour to 3rd worlders

They literally do? Most of their teaching is based on immersion and cultural studies.

Learning a language is the ultimate cope, it's easy enough for any retard to do if they cram enough hours and it allows you to pretend you are smarter and more "wordly" and bullshit like that than people around you

this is pretty accurate though ideally the time used is replacing other “reacreation” time sinks like tv or vidya

Watched the video. That girl is refreshingly wholesome
>the internet will let us talk with people from all over the world!
That girl actually does it. Just chats with other kids in their own language. She’s not a master of any language she just chats and improves and that’s based.

Once you have a certain basic level you can literally just watch TV and play vidya but in the language you're learning.

Yeah, only low IQ subhumans are interested in thinking in another developed advanced society's tongue.

The proficiency in the language is a skill. How autistic, inexperienced, and stupid do you have to be to think otherwise? I know you're an undergrad, so why don't you ask every single professor you have how many languages they know, and see if you can find just one that only knows their mother tongue. I bet at least half know 3+ languages.

There is zero chance that a thirteen-year-old speaks twenty languages. Certainly not in any kind of meaningful sense. This is meme bait for credulous morons who never managed to successfully learn languages themselves. John Von Neumann knew five languages when he was thirteen. Why would this random Youtube boy be four times better than thirteen-year-old John Von Neumann?
He should've picked maybe two of those to study seriously. He might just have actually learned them by now.

Cope, your duolingo streak isn't impressing anyone. You are low IQ and can only learn how to say the same thing in different ways
