Uh idk, how about formulating a shape with certain properties and characteristics for a very specific application and making an iteration of it that's as efficient as physically possible.

Ex. Microchips, Jet Engines, all of Civil Engineering.

What you’re describing isn’t topology, you mong. For example, aerodynamics is concerned with things like smoothness and cross-sectional area, neither of which have anything to do with topology. Every airfoil is homeomorphic to a sphere.
