Vintage recording technology. Spacing between scenes with narrations vs scenes where the subjects speak or engage in various activities. Quieter, less frequent musical insertions. There are some 90's documentaries by Eugenia Monesma I found on youtube recently that are maybe "soulful."

Some of the old manufacturing documentaries from the 60's to 80's have that sort of quality, as well. Maybe the common dialects of narrators from those time periods contributes.

very nice, just watched it through. Is there a companion that shows the rest of the program since this one ends at the first flight of the higher powered plane? It had a lot to do after this point.
