🧵 How to travel at the speed of light

Anonymous No. 16635760

Scan every atom in your body
Destroy it (by programmed function in the scanner)
Broadcast the information as a radio signal
Reconstitute yourself at the off-world target station

I forgot to add that its easier to just download your mind rather than scanning your entire body, its more efficient to replace your brain with a nanochip and just upload it to some new body at the off-world station, doesnt have to be similar

Easier choice.
STOP TIME... KEEP TRAVELING.

Better choice...
GO BACK IN TIME... ARRIVE BEFORE YOU LEFT.

How to travel very far, very fast not using time travel and obeying the speed of light. SCISSOR JACKS. First problem of light speed travel (conventional physics) is that if you're flinging matter behind you at high velocities, you eventually run out of matter. Ergo, it's matter expensive to try to go light speed.

Next choice... VERY LONG RIGID POLES.
Imagine a rigid pipe between the Earth and the local Moon. You could ride inside the pipe or grip the exterior with roller wheels to accelerate to the end of the pipe. Problem, well, the mass for the pipe... literally every rule of physics after that, if you pull yourself forwards, you push the pipe backwards no matter if the pipe mass is already absurd.

Compromise... INFINITE WIRES. Ride the taunt wire to the stars. Same problems as pipes, but there's extra vibration, rotation, and bunching up.

Infinite ladder? SCISSOR JACKS. You can push off nearby things then pull the jack back to you. The problem with needing absurd mass ejections to accelerate become different with SCISSOR JACKS. Why? Imagine you had a thruster on the end of the scissor jack, you push off that thrust platform while remaining connected to it. Like a "double jump or triple jump in videogames", imagine a rocket platform floating in the sky, a scissor jack lift pushes you upwards, but your feet remain connected to the scissor jack platform as the rockets turn off. Under gravity... You fall. Under zero gravity, you get kicked upwards, turn off the rocket thrust, retract and compress the scissor jack to the base of the spaceship, start up the rockets of the scissor jack bottom, push off from that platform.

Back to time travel rocketry.
STOP TIME... KEEP MOVING.
You will eventually arrive at your destination, but it will seem instant to you. Problem, really hard to stear a spaceship which has no perception of time to avoid collisions.

GO BACK IN TIME BEFORE YOU LEAVE... ARRIVE INSTANTLY.
The JUMP DRIVE.

Okay, let's say you take 3 days at maximum thrust to reach the moon in Normal Physics.

Go to space, stop time
Reverse time so you're traveling at minimum thrust velocity while traveling through space.

Since "TIME IS NO PRICE", fuel becomes very cheap. No, really, think about it. You only have to engage in minimum thrust to reach the moon if you know you'll always reach it "in time" no matter how slow you move through space.

Let's say you set your rocket thrust at the velocity of a morbidly obese preschooler riding a tricycle dragging a 200 pound barbell. Or about the speed of a snail dragging a brick by a wire 1 inch per year distance displacement. If it takes you 10000 years to reach the moon at that velocity, you take once per decade blink intervals of a few seconds for computer course corrections in realtime, but go back 10000 years before you left to travel to the moon. When you arrive, almost no realtime has passed for you, the moon is now in front of you nearly instantly.

Because you went at slowest possible thrust, you still have absurd amounts of unspent rocket fuel to use as you please. Because once you do the initial thrust kick, space itself will only slow you by gravity and collisions.

See how much faster you can go if "speed of light" is no longer a calculator factor in distance traveled.

You could, stop time using conventional physics by cryogenics or reduce to crew to a stable polymer matter slurry to be reconstituted at the destination. But everyone else is still living in realtime wherever you arrive. More advanced form is STOP TIME within the spacecraft, you travel through space, but the human crew doesn't get older. Only the computer takes pokes out of the time stop bubble to do minute course correction using minimal fuel.

Use special device, to distort the mass, so you can have percieved negative mass somewhere by distortion of gravitational waves.
