I don't get the point of calculus. Why spend all that time and effort learning something that you will never apply to anything in real life again and will most likely even forget how to do a month? All the problems that need calculus to be solved have already been solved over the past few hundred years, so you're just filling your brain with useless information and wasting time that could have been better spent learning other things.

From what I understand the faster an object moves the slower it experiences the effects of time in comparison to an object with a lower velocity.
I call bullshit.
If, in picrel, both rockets have same quantity of radioactive material that decays over an unspecified half life and the red and blue rocket leave point A same time and arrive at point B at the same time. Your telling me, that blue will have more of the original radioactive material, because...? Even though both rockets moved between two points at the same time. Nah

I don't understand gravity. The popsci explanation is that it's created by the curvature of spacetime and objects aren't actually attracted to one another but are only following that curvature. But that only explains why objects that are already moving fall down. Why would a stationary object follow that curvature and fall? If I drop a pen, where is that force coming from to push it down? Is it because they're moving through time? Please help

Are polynomials actually wrong? Dimensional analysis makes it obvious that you cannot compare, let alone add or subtract, cubic meters, square meters, and meters. So how can a polynomial mixing up volume, area and length make sense?

Why do normalfags don’t see children as literally an organism that’s keeping their own genes alive? Our ancestors reproduced for since start of life on Earth, and now if you don’t reproduce, it’s literally genealogical suicide. Your genes go extinct. And then, the less fitter genes take over the gene pool and we’d enter dark age.

🧵 does insect have pre programmed brain

are insects not a "blank slate" like mammals are?
are they infact born with all the knowledge they will ever need? like a circuit board designed by humans?
an insect was accidentally brought about by evolution but its still re-wired and cannot be altered?
a genetic code contains what is stored in insect brain? this is unlike mammal brain which is infact empty when he develops and a mammal will start learning once brain has developed, if he doesnt learn, he is like an AI stuck in a loop
learning input for mammal is sound, touch, vision, smell
learning input for insect doesnt matter as much because it contains all the behaviours it does even if it has no input
a newly hatched fly that comes out of a cocoon was genetically altered to not have functional eyes, to not have antenna for smelling chemical substances or feeling vibrations in the air (sound)
what does it do? it sits around and cleans it face by its front legs, he doesnt know why but this behaviour was already in its brain straight from the birth. it has never heard anything, never seen anything, never felt anything
also he tries to fly around but doesnt see anything so it ends miserably
