There is no way caving is a sport.

One of these things requires athleticism, skill, and courage.

The other one requires you to be a twiggy bitch dumb enough to climb into a hole you know full well isn't big enough.

Who looks at the second photo and thinks "yeah, that's appealing, I want to get into that."? I can understand wanting to be a daredevil and doing the first one, even though I still think it's stupid and would never do it myself. But crawling in tiny gap?

Is cave crawling a sub-set of caving?
what about descent caving?

most cavers dont paticularly enjoy the long squeezes but do enjoy the larger caverns. Also the caving community is autistic and gate keep their maps/cave access so you have to join a grotto

a lot of very experienced caverns hate tight crawls and get panic attacks (btw those retarded looking squeezes are only about 2% of what you do when moving through caves at least in california)

IIRC in the Alex Hannold documentary they had climbers on ropes next to them taking video and photos at the same time trying not to break their concentration. Drones make it easier now a days too. For the caving, I'm assuming the same thing. Crew member with them.
