For string walking what is the exact amount to space you need to move your finger relative to the meters away your shooting? Is there a formula? Or at least a set known distance for each amount of meters? No I don’t have a finger tab with notches on it. How do they even know where to put the notches?

I was under the impression that you figure this out by trial and error? Start at 5m, see how far down you need to move to hit the middle, once you got it, move to 10m, and so on. If you cant put notches on your tab maybe there's a way to mark the spot on the string? I'm a beginner myself so take this with a grain of salt.
