Will lifting weights for a harder punch, kick or a harder takedown slow down my cardio? do you think it's worth lifting weights or not?

Lifting weights will not fuck ur cardio in fact it will help your cardio. Cardio is only a problem if u go bodybuilder mode which I doubt you are

Lifting weights won't help your punch much unless you're extremely weak. You want power, not max strength. Think medicine ball throws, wood chopping, jumping, sprinting etc.

>doing explosive weight training movements won't improve your punching power
>lots of cardio will

You know how I know you are retarded?

Yes. Lift and do combat sports. It's just dorky TMA nerds who want to do everything they can to avoid actual exercise who believe this crap that fight training plus weight training won't make you a better fighter.

the BJJ enthusiasts in my gym lift to prevent injury
being a lanklet is apparently not good for injury prevention
Else doing workouts that work the motions you need are good
Explosive hips and thighs for instance need deadlifts
mobility and footwork with jump rope
etc

Yeah that's why heavyweights punch with the same force as flyweights. Oh wait, you're dumb as fuck.
