I've been doing muay thai for a while now, what's the likelihood of losing your teeth while training? This one guy I was paired up with today didn't hold back and it felt like he'd break my bones if I slipped up blocking.

Just wear a mouthguard. Also, swallow your pride if you think you can't hang with the higher level guys and ask if you can spar with someone else. Maybe the guy's just being a dick or doesn't know how to spar properly. Either way, just ask to spar with someone else.

Ask him to tone down the power, theres no point in getting hurt like that in sparring if you're not prepping for a fight. I understand hard sparring has a place in training but it still needs to be controlled to a certain extent

0% If you wear a mouth guard sparing / padwork
5-10% with padwork, no guard.
100% Sparing, no guard (if given enough time).
Get a mouth guard with a serious dental coverage on it if you are really worried about it.

Next to zero, also pick your sparring partners selectively you're not there to make friends.

just dont spar with him, 95% of Muay Thai sparring should be EXTREMELY light to the head, like 10% power or less
Hard sparring is a once in a while thing that you only really need if youre actually preparing for a fight
you dont get a medal for getting a concussion from some edgelord faggot in the gym

In Thailand light sparring is like 30-40% everyday. Americans think light sparring is foot tag because they think their rebranded cardio bunny gym is the real deal
