Depends on what kind of gigantic, if you're 6'5 and 245 lb. with good cardio you'll probably be a force to be reckoned with. If you're 6'0 at 335 lb. you're probably a sack of potatoes waiting to be toppled.

Being unable to find partners your size makes you worse mma fighter. There are a lot of people who can match the strength, there's almost no one who can do it with the same leverages and distance. So yes, but it's not an intrinsic problem. A small guy with no partners his size has the same issue.

Akebono is a bad example to use. He already had multiple injuries from sumo and mostly competed in kickboxing where he couldn't actually use his sumo skills.
