most of the american ones that were high school athletes desu. rocky marciano probably be the shoe that fits best because of his insane conditioning and having wrestled in high school.

Pacquiao was a Thai boxer before going full Queensbury. I know there's others too but that name sticks out.

by that logic, samart would be best

Golovkin, he did wrestling for years and has dabbled with bjj.

How could be this fight If Inoki was full allowed to striking and grappling and not just kick from the ground?

Anonymous No. 141831

It'd be over in the first round.

They should allow up to 3 kicks in a fight

Ironically could have been better for Ali since there's a good chance he would have heemed him on the way in

Lomachenko has a wrestling background and his footwork is tailor made for bantamweight mma. There's a video of him beating the shit out of dillashaw in sparring. Pretty satisfying to watch! Guys like tj or cruz try hard to emulate him, but are light years behind.

Legend has it that ali's leg was in risk of literal amputation after inoki kicked it all the match
and chatGTP told me inoki did 20K squats a day
go figure

My grandpa met Inoki back in the day, this was when he used to visit Iraq. I heard he was a real great guy, salt of the earth character if there ever was one. I even have a picture of them together in a family album.

Probably Jack Dempsey, he was a pretty legit judoka and karateka if I remember correctly. He had a book about hand to hand combat

post your favorite combos
for me its the jab into switch roundhouse kick, it either hits the liver or the head if they're using lateral head movement

Also ironically since Inoki could basically do nothing except throw low kicks he ended up badly damaging Ali's legs; if Inoki had been allowed to fight normally Ali probably would have not been injured to such an extent even if Inoki won.

Hindu squats and lion push-ups. To this day Japanese rookie pro-wrestlers still do both regularly.

Generally, dirty fighting sluggers like Dempsey, Greb, Foreman or Liston.
Boxers who have a style tailor-made to win in the ring would not fare well: For example, Mayweather will not be able to deal with wrestlers, being only accustomed to defend against punches and not having power. Rocky Marciano had enough stopping power but his crouching style, while great for boxing, would not have helped him much in MMA.

lol no. Karate was unknown until the 60s, and even then it was extremely exotic and only known to martial arts autists.
Dempsey did boxing and wrestling. However, he supposedly did have a run in with Wang Shu Jin, the internal Kung Fu guy.

I think Alis style would be great to transition into mma. His upright stance means he would be more easily able integrate kickboxing and mma techniques since he doesn't rely on the widened stance that most boxers use

Anonymous No. 156405

>>156342
I think his hands down style would be a good fit too
Also ppl dont realize Ali was a blackbelt in TKD, for whatever thats worth, so he could probably kick decently

>honorary blackbelt
Litteraly meaningless. He never did anything other than boxing
