๐งต How dangerous are knees, elbows and headbutts?

Headbutts are banned for all MMA fighters, elbows and knees to the head are banned for all amateur fighters and elbows and knees to the body are banned for least experienced amateur fighters. Does it make sense, considering that punches and kicks, even to the head, are legal on all levels?

Elbows are incredibly devastating. you don't even need to be in a clinch. You could be standing square and if you threw an elbow, your body's momentum would carry you into your opponents face like a spear.

If you're an experienced amateur fighter then fight pro. Literally the only differences are elbows and the time limit.

Imagine an amateur fighter with 2-6-0 record. He's quite experienced but I don't think UFC or Bellator would want him.

Low-level professional fights exist, you don't need to be at UFC or Bellator, it's just a different ruleset. Back in my day, in my area, there used to be a hard rule that after 5 amateur wins you had to go pro. In MMA it's literally just a lesser ruleset. If you can't get 5 wins in amateur, you probably aren't ready for elbows. Now I know guys I used to train with who have 10+ amateur wins and are holding amateur championships. At that point, you're just a big fish in a small pond. At least go win some small shitty professional promotion's title. Most places will have a smaller than state level promotion.
