Does using a mouthguard, make you ingest microplasics/other harmful chemicals? Are there non plastic alternatives?

Hijacking this thread to ask what the best options for an affordable, form fitted mouth guard are. I have a cheapass everlast mouthguard that sucks ass but I’d rather have one that properly fits my teeth

In Aus getting a dentist to form on for you is ~$100, or ~$10 if you have coverage

People wear retainers and stuff too all the time. There might be silicone mouthguards if you're worried, but it's unlikely to be a big deal either way.

>Generally microplastics are formed by either the degradation of plastics disposed of into watercourses, or from the shedding of plastic fibres from fabrics, ropes etc.

>Large, solid plastic objects are unlikely to produce microplastics. You might as well worry about the miles of plastic piping bringing your water to your tap. It's far more likely that the microplastics are going to be in the water already from plastic pollution or shedding from washing plastic fibres.
