What are your thoughts on hitting the philtrum?

I think hitting the throat like this may have sense

It works, but it depends on either great placement, or lack of head movement, and philtrum becomes mouth, when wearing boxing gloves.
You should consider the philtrum a target spot for straights though, it does hurt when done right.

It would be extremely painful

Better target for a blunt weapon than anything else. Bashing on a 180 to their head up/down axis. If you can hit that empty handed, you're probably fighting someone without arms or something. But the end of an escrima stick will do ya good.

You're gonna hit that one naturally just in the course of head-hunting. Honestly pressure points are a crapshoot.
>Not everybody is identical, by birth or conditioning
>Sold like a guarantee, isnt.
I've seen dudeds buckle like bitches or just brush it off like a brute. However there are different kinds and some are more reliable.
>nerve clusters like the philtrum
Good if fighting an unexperienced person but fighters are usually gonna be desensitized to most of these being hit with at least blunt force. Anatomically the greatest threats beyond pain is possibly some disruptive bleeding. Many nerve-clusters share area with high blood flow, arteries & concentrations of capillaries.
>Kinetic Chain Kinks
The obvious ones are joints, not gonna say nothing bout them. Soft tissue is the neglected one and its understandable because in combat sports they require a lot of effort and investment, especially when wearing gloves. You can steal the power right out of a fighters arms with continued drilling on where the pectoralis minor & biceps brachii meet, just behind your pec, under the delt, see pic.
