Why do MMA fans who only wanna watch boxing with a little kicks and booooo at grappling watch MMA instead of kickboxing?

You need to work on your English.

People don't really like stalling control positions of any kind. It's why American football has 4 downs that have to be reupped, basketball has shot clocks or face possession loss, etc. It's just more obvious in certain combat sport scenarios.

People forget pretty quickly that watching mma at a bar is still where a lot of people start watching. It's not the same percentage it was 10 years ago, but it's not a small one either.

This was clearly a brainfart thread but whatever.

It isn't grappling in general. It's stalling and pins that most fans hate.
It's the same reason why fans will boo when boxers clench the whole bout.
It's because after a certain point you aren't watching a fight anymore. You are watching aggressive hugging because one or both are actively avoiding fighting.
Shit is boring even to most people with grappling experience who knows in detail what's going on. Mostly because such a person can see clearly that they are stalling.

It's even worse when they are playing by points. Where they get a few scoring techniques in to put them ever so slightly above in points then stall the rest of the match as much as possible with no intention of fighting the rest of the round. Shit isn't just boring it's annoying and infuriating to watch.
In mma grapplers do it the most because pins and stalling sequences are built in to most grappling styles so everyone with reasonable proficiency in grappling knows how to do it.
But it happens in boxing and kickboxing too, just nowhere near as much.

UFC began to find out what the most effective martial art in a real fight. MMA is sort of as close to a real fight as is morally and legally allowed in the West. People want to see it for that reason.

People are just butthurt that it turns that, generally speaking unless you are heavyweight, grappling is more powerful than striking.
People have a fantasy that in a fight they would knock 10 people out like in a Kung Fu movie.

When Dana White stops being retarded and stops this whole bitch slapfight bullshit and actually sets up a kick-boxing/Muay Thai league then the money will roll in as it will be more popular.

Personally, I would like to see a sport that is a mix of boxing and Greco Roman wrestling.
Fist and elbow strikes are allowed but no kicks and only Greco Roman Grappling of the upper body.
Victory by points through striking, knockout or pinning the opponent to the mat.

It is a big problem in modern Muay Thai with fighters getting in the clinch and not even throwing elbows and knees; just hugging and pulling to tire the opponent out. It just comes a contest of who can control the clinch/who is stronger and has better cardio.
