What are your thoughts on bare knuckle fighting? Watching it a bit and even though it's more entertaining (imo) it makes me worried a bit for the fighters on long term damage. Curious to see what you guys think.

Idk but many people say it's more dangerous to your face but less dangerous to your brain

I canโt imagine it being worse for your brain but certainly worse on your hands and wrists, and opens up for eye pokes and scratches

This.
Bare knuckle exposes the individual bones in the hand to more strain, people learn that quickly and stop punching as hard because of how much more it hurts a damages the hands.
Less force means less jolting of the brain. There's a good reason the early pugilists didn't develop CTE.

Is it unusual to be able to haymaker a fridge with full force & suffer no ill effect?

Punch a coconut full force, then remind yourself the human skull is stronger.

Reinforces the structure, making the fist more of a club. As >>154574 says, it's not really bare knuckle now. It seems like a simple change, but it wildly affects the way punches are delivered, and thus the entire methodology and strategy of the sport.

I'm intrigued.
It's a devil's gambit: the brain is the highest value target, but it's also the best protected. The hands are the fastest, most accurate weapons, but are fragile. How do you solve this problem?
Honestly what I really want is full contact/knockdown karate with head punches included to, but bare knuckle boxing is interesting too.

Why not just watch kickboxing, muay thai and lethwei?

Those arts are awesome, but they're generally gloved competitions. I want to see bare knuckle competition in the gi with few restrictions on legal targets.
Kyokushin karate competition is like 90% of what I want, but they don't allow punches to the head, so it changes the game. Muay Thai is a nearly limitless striking style, but they're wearing gloves. Mash 'em together. How do you attack someone's brain without shattering your hands?

I just fucking wish they had MMA, or even kickboxing, with zero gloves, zero wraps and no rounds

I heard that it's somehow safer than boxing actually, not sure how though.
