Thinking of joining a muay thai gym. Only martial arts is exprience I have is karate classes when i was a 13, i'm 30 now. Any tips?

Be curious, be disciplined.
Do what your coach says.
And uh.. Don't eat too much before training, or at least 2 hours before training so you don't throw up.
That's pretty much it.

Im 27 and did exactly this this year went there 3 times a week, waiting for september for the new season to start.
just go beyond the pain , you will have time to heal for the next training but you will feel pain every day, but a good pain, and the pain from civilian life will becom a joke to your body.

Wait until you know the basic moves to do sparring, especially hard sparring.
Most gyms wont even let total noobs off the street spar right away, which i think is smart
Jab cross rear kick is an easy combo to land, throw the cross as a feignt and dont retract it, just go immediately into the kick
One of my fav combos to spam,easy to throw and easy to land
This will make sense once you know how to punch and kick

Practise jumping rope. Most Muay Thai gyms do jump rope with a heavier rope than boxing.
Nobody expects you to be good when you start but It is embarrassing if you cannot jump rope for shit at all.
