🧵 Why are mma weightclasses so misogynist?

Boxing, judo, bjj, taekwondo. All of these have weightclasses for large women. Only mma doesn't because most promotions seem to believe in a misogynist claim that women can't be both over 145 lbs and fit. Why not just add women's lightweight (155 lbs) women's welterweight (170 lbs) and women's heavyweight (+170 lbs)?

Most MMA fans and promotions don't want to watch big women beating up other big women, you'll just get female sumo matches out of them at that point, lmao.
Tbh we should have mixed gender bouts where its a man with Wrestling and BJJ vs full MMA rules for the woman. Would be entertaining.

No, the reason is there are so few competitors in that range globally at a world class level that you could count them on a single hand.
There aren't enough world class female fighters at those higher weights for you to make a whole division of them.
