How is this a reach at all? Tyson would maul nearly any human being ever and he was purposely raised (by one of the greatest trainers ever) to be 5 feet 10 inches, average height in the U.S.

Higher testosterone levels in your youth will make you shorter because it signals your bones to fuse earlier
So that's the reason weight lifting stunts growth because it stimulates T production
It's also why late bloomers are always lanklets, they keep getting longer and longer because their bones never signal to stop

Reach advantage comes from armspan, not height.
Altough it is related, purposely stuting you growth will affect only your height.

Reach advantages can always be negated through the application of superior boxing technique. Tyson and Dempsey were famous for negating their opponents height and weight advantages. Sure, not everyone is as great, but at the end of the day tactics and strategy always prevail over brawn. Just because someone is taller and has great reach doesn't give them any inherent advantage. Put a 250 pound bodybuilder in the ring with a welterweight and he'd be torn to ribbons.There is no advantage that cannot be countered, unless the fight is rigged from the start. Size does matter, but being bigger isn't that important and is never the decisive factor.
