๐Ÿงต what will the meta be?

Anonymous No. 170122

is wall wrestling here to stay? it's fucken boring, it grinds the fight to a halt. Leg kicks where kind of cheep, but this is just stale: I like MMA when they go bananas, not this shit

the cage was always a gimmick to make it seem more brutal
get rid of the cage, go back to ropes

isn't a ring a bit smaller than the cage?

really it can be any size you want it to be
but this wrestle heavy meta is a result of being able to drive guys against the wall

Cage is made to prevent falling out because of throws or rolling on the floor. Mma in the boxing ring means the referee needs to tell fighters to get up and lie down closer to the center every time they're on the ground close to the ropes.

The cage was there to make it seem like street fighting in a closed environment. Either indoors or in an alleyway where most "street" fights happen.

Maybe something like the circular ring BKFC uses. That shape allows for larger ring sizes without compromising rope tension, and removes getting stuck in the corner which isn't much different "stall" wise than cage pinning.

Bring back the lai tai. Wall & stall problem, solved.

Although, in "real" fights (whatever that means) or violent crimes, a lot of times someone is pinned against a wall, or a car, or furniture, or something. So fighting against the cage is actually pretty interesting from a self defense perspective.

Still makes for shit TV, though.

Then they should leave the stools and have a table in there too

In my experience fights happen on the sidewall more than anywhere else

Kinda funny that this scenario is completely legal when a roided up bull might kill everyone in the ring, but would never get sanctioned for just two people.
