๐Ÿงต Was "speed" just a cope?

Anonymous No. 170740

I was born in 89' and growing up if you had an exotic car it meant something. Not just because it looked nice, oh no, that was a coincidence. You were in it for the speed. Fast and the furious was a new way of dialing into that phenomenon. These guys had turbod 4 cylinders and v-6s that could top any exotic car and the common man ate it up. Now we've got electric vehicles that look like Satan himself took a shit on the drag strip eating Bugattis for lunch. An electric style mustang crossover running less than 4 seconds 0-60 can be yours for 20% of what it would cost to own an exotic that's SLOWER. So again I ask, was speed just a cope?

maybe?
Speed chasers gonna chase speed but I think most people value the roar of the engine and the handling, swinging it around the corner type of thing more.
