๐Ÿงต Peek-a-boo with cross arm guard?

Anonymous No. 172394

it sounds weird but would it be possible to use the "Peekaboo" style mixed with the crossarm (crossarm for blocking jabs and being able to parry) and the (peekaboo for slipping hooks and getting in)

Sure, there's not much benefit because cross arm just adds extra unneeded movement in between the actions. Besides if you worry about jabs, just learn to bob and weave.

Jabs work at the longest reach and are the weakest type of a punch one can throw thus allowing you to dodge them if you are careful enough maintaining your space.

Not in MMA because it essentially cedes top position in a grapple to anyone who can close distance to grab a body lock, you're gonna tip over pretty trivially if someone wraps you up like that.

Also doing so in a streetfight sounds pretty risky, because on nonpadded floors, the domino fall you're potentially gonna have if someone DOES successfully get that body lock on you onto a concrete floor would be really, really dangerous, that's a hard fall I wouldn't want to risk.
