Are there any quiet targets i can use for throwing knives indoors

Thick rubber backing helps with echoing, but you really can't remove the thwack. Wood splitting quickly will always make noise. And that's assuming you sink everything perfectly so nothing goes clanging.

I don’t know how good it would be for knives but archery targets aren’t that loud

You can get away with crossbow targets for needle point implements. But if OPs using the kind in his picture, they tend to either bounce off or shred the material after they puncture a few times.

Why no knife throwing general?

I use some cardboard target made for darts.
Make sure to aim well and it's not very noisy, it degrades fast though.

I started with cards.

Literally all of those things require a different technique to throw though

Are you guys using a spin or nospin technique? Been throwing knives every summer for about 2 years now and I can't seem to get past 3 meters with a nospin technique, although I'm not sure if it's also not an issue of check chink knives I've been using this whole time.

3 meters is a pretty standard distance try mixing up your throw, overhand underhand

Had some friends/roommates who got really into throwing knives for a while, they ruined the wall of the garage of a place we were renting because they were using a rug hung on the outer wall and an old couch for targets. When we moved out they took down the rug and there were a few thousand holes in the wall from the two years of throwing knives. It was a good laugh.

>extreme knife throwing:
>create full body suit of anti-stab material
>have two people stand at opposite ends of an arena filled with obstacles and cover
>first person to stick the other guys vest with a throwing knife wins
>no one dies
Thoughts?
