First book I can think of when I think about boxing is Jack Dempsey's.

Boxing is still in a very old competitive mindset. Don't share your training "secrets". Whether or not this extends to a marketing strategy, or a being afraid of being roasted for what you're doing, varies by the coach. Among the few who do a bunch of instructional online work, I'd look at Tom Yankello. He's sort of taken the Danaher approach, in so far as getting really into any mechanics, variations or specific use of any given movement. As far as Fanatics, they do have a comparative to jiu jitsu less thorough but somewhat extensive striking catalog.

Because despite the CTE rates boxers aren't retarded fucking rubes. Most of them come from backgrounds so poor that this idea is just a scam to them. Mechanically boxing is a lot simpler to practice, even solo. Also, what kind of fucking retard would actually pay for any of that when its ALL on youtube. Boxing stuff too. Any faggot fighter trying to sell you some epic secret lecture is full of shit & knows/shows nothing that aint available for free.

It's symptomatic of the fact bjj doesn't work as promised
People will practice for years and still get beat up by brand new people who are a little more athletic than them
And then the gaslighting starts, "it's because you didn't commit to the jiujisssu"
And it's a polishing a turd situation, the practitioners are convinced they're the problem and must be missing something so they're willing to spend a lot of money looking for that silver bullet to make them a jedi master like jocko said they would be

Sooo much this. Weeb faggots bought the 'it will let you beat stronger people' meme but the truth is you need to be a fucking master before those perks kick in because BJJ just sucks.

Isn't that literally all martial arts
6'2 100kg+ aggresive angry guy with nothing to lose and isn't afraid of prison will beat the fuck out of most people, unless you are built the same, same mindset and more athletic, OR a literal master of your martial art. And even then its not a given.

That big guy if he walks into a boxing gym is going to get knocked out because he doesn't know how to use that size and strength appropriately, and his technique is going to be so flawed he just leaves the openings
If he goes into a BJJ class there is a high likelihood he's going to smash people that have been practicing for years
Thats why in BJJ you always hear them saying "slow it down, don't use so much strength"
The boxer will say take your best shot try to KO me and see what happens
The beejboi will say slow your roll there chief, don't be so aggressive!
This is the only environment where you will hear those words, whether it's boxing, wrestling, judo, even karate for heaven's sake a big part of the training involves drills specifically tailored to increasing your quickness and your power as much as possible
But you go into BJJ and they shun those things, they will shame you for using those things, in fact you're doing it wrong if you use those things! Because when you do use those things their house of cards falls down and it gets exposed as only working when the other person decides to intentionally handicap their physical attributes and play along

A boxer is a boxer and the ring is very different to the chaos of real life altercation. Every guy has some basic boxing knowledge, the more athletic/heavy one will win
You put a lighter pro boxer against a heavy athletic guy with only basics and enraged the pro will struggle in a street fight
TL;Dr size, basic athletic ability (gas) and mindset will destroy all but people at the TOP of their chosen martial arts

Think thats a little narrow. The learning curve is steep for the "top" think at that point it's more a mental game than anything

you really think a 5'7" 160 with say 5 years boxing is going to struggle against a 6'1" 230? because he wont
in bjj he's getting clobbered

I'm saying a real fight.
In the boxing ring yeah the small guy can dance around and score points. Maybe. The big guy gets one good hit and the little guy goes bye bye
Big guy with average boxing skills clobbers a lightweight pro

Funnily enough modern boxing came out of the prize fighting era where they were used to exchanging blows to each other with bare knuckles and then this one runt of a guy just started dancing around and knocking people out that were heavier than him.

There are books on boxing. To the extent something like BJJ or even karate has much more books it's because they are widely practiced by nerds rather than hood rats.

>If he goes into a BJJ class there is a high likelihood he's going to smash people that have been practicing for years
If they're half his size, maybe, and that would then happen in any other combat sport as well
>Thats why in BJJ you always hear them saying "slow it down, don't use so much strength
Because certain people, usually beginners, only have two speeds, "doing nothing at all" and "fighting for my fucking life". The second one is very likely to get someone hurt, and it's not ideal when you're just trying to slow roll and polish your technique or try a new move
