The foot fist way is a silly movie about a fat moron who thinks he’s a bigger deal than he actually is. The art of self defense is supposed to have a serious message that says “masculinity bad”. Not the “same energy” at all.

It's more like "overcompensating for insecurities isn't good." Because the main guy gains self respect and a community from learning self defense. Of course, it's one that's led by a charismatic cult leader, it still got him out of his shell.

This is a great movie. Maybe some of early Jackie Chan movies are better like meals on wheels because it has comedy too and also cool fight scene with Benny Urquidez.
