My friends have a small skateboard company, and they released this board graphic in 2021, and now SK8Mafia has stolen the graphic and made it into a Wes Kremer pro model board... they gave no design credit, no shoutout, and infact are censoring posts of us tagging the small company in the comments... could you guys please go on the Sk8mafia instagram and comment something like "thank you @wyfskateboards" or "design credit for AOL board to @wyfskateboards"
it would really mean a lot, this is bullshit, Sk8mafia brands themselves as a "core" skate company and now here they are stealing graphics from the little guy.. I love Wes Kremer and I'm not blaming him, he probably didn't know, but whoever designed his board needs to be called out..

Thats awesome your friends graphic was chosen by them. Send them an invoice, be sure to charge extra because we'll, kinda ride how they went about business. But all is forgiven once they pay the check. If they ignore it you escalate matters legally.

Nah that is bullshit they are a business with distribution and top pros they can afford to pay artists and not rip their shit off. This is classic bullying technique from bigger guys to fuck over smaller guys. Shit happens to photographers and videographers too. OP should send an invoice to HLC distribution of Skate Mafia wants to pretend they're too stoned to reply. I'd also get out of the skate world with this and bring it to the attention of some graphic design union or something. Idk what protections and government institutions USA has. But OP shouldn't roll over and "be cool" because of who they are.

it'd be a copyright thing and unless OP's friends put any kind of claim on their design (which they probably didn't since it's even less transformative than mafia's version), they have no legal ground to stand on
