>15 years ago before I even knew wrestling/bjj existed
>Guy tries to take me down in the street
>I instinctively do pic related and start pulling on his neck until he taps

Why do people need to be taught to do this? Isn't it just an instinctive reaction?

Everyone knows what a tap is. This is 15 years ago. Bjj wasn't mainstream and I thought wrestling was WWE

I'm thinking about training wrestling to compliment my striking. I just fear a lot of their moves such as dropping down on the knee won't be good on pavement, and the stuff you can use you already know if you have any fight iq such as how to sprawl or how to pick someone up and dump them or how to trip someone

Does this stuff really need to be taught to stupid people??

You don't have to get on your knees to get a takedown

Get into a fight with a wrestler and evaluate this.

It is instinctual, but is it consistently repeatable
That's where the practice comes in
