You would think a PROFESSIONAL MMA FIGHTER would know how to block a straight punch, especially with that reaction time.

In the context of professional MMA he might. But this was a boxing match, outside his area of expertise.

And what? He's not an experienced boxer and he shouldn't start his boxing career from fighting the best guys.

FMJ made a killing sparring with a YouTuber that was flailing at him. Big difference. For fuck's sake they had Instagram followers on the fighters' data sheet.

Boxing and mma are completely different at the upper professional levels. Tyson fury took it easy on Ngannopu. Floyd took it easy on Mayweather. And when you even have a youtuber who trains like a pro faces a mma guy he clowns on them. Other than retards, noone should ever expect a mma fighter to beat a championship level boxer. Realistically and this would take it from a lottery ticket odds to like 1 percent, the mma guy would need to take 2-3 years off and train boxing. Somehow have 2 closed session "mock" fights.

So? He trains a much less limited fighting style. Put the pro boxer in the octagon and he has his legs chopped off and RNC in one round
>wow you would think a PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER could sprawl and check kicks

Boxers are dishonest.
They'll only step up to MMA guys if the guy in question agrees not to kick, elbow, knee, and grapple. None of those "best fighters of all time" can actually win a fight against sombody that trains MMA.

Also because MMA pays like fuckin crap compared to boxing. Once you reach the upper eschelons of boxing and get famous, each fight is millions. Ngannou got paid 600k in his last heavyweight title defense in the UFC.
James Toney had the balls to try but he was submitted pretty quickly.

I don't think a lot of MMA fighters do it for the money, but yeah, it would be nice if they were paid more. And about James Toney, I respect him. I wish more boxers would step up to MMA fighters but with a no grappling rule. it would be interesting how a guy who only uses his fists can condition himself to take a Thai Boxing pounding, and maybe win.

What do you mean that Tyson took it easy on Ngannou??
You mean to tell me that he purposefully ruined his legacy?
