Would replacing Judo, Wrestling, etc., by Mixed Wresling Arts and Mixed Striking Arts be beneficial to the Olympics?

Consider the following:
> circle arena
> out = 2 points
> knockdown/takedown = 3 points
> knockout/submission = 10 points
> 3 3 min rounds
> protection everywhere including head recommended but not obligatory
> first to 10 points, or with more round wins, wins the fight

I think it would be far more interesting if there were very diverse ways of winning points and different styles actually clashed with each other.

This also ends the notion that the Olympics ruins Martial Arts, since there will be no Point Judo, or Point Karate anymore, just Olympic Striking and Olympic Wrestling. As a bonus you could also add an actual MMA tournament with the best of both sides, but following the same rules.

It's light, and you can probably fight 3 or 4 times in this 3 week period if you are fully protected and you can win by just taking people down and pushing them out.

Instead of that gay shit let's replace the Olympics with something good.

The point of the Olympics has always been to breakdown warfare into small subsets of skills and test the men of each city-state in terms of their specific skill sets, (who can run faster, who can run longer, who can javelin further, who can fly an arrow straighter). Boxing (using fists), TKD (using feet), Judo (wrestling in a jacket) and Freestyle (wrestling as close to naked as possible) do that quite well as it stands. The anomaly is GR but it has a place now anyway. There could be some minor rules changes to some of these sports to make them a bit more interesting to watch and play but what you're proposing is pointless. If you're going to add more and more subsets of skills then you're just slowly working your way up to brawling.

Just go watch MT, ADCC or UFC somewhere else. Style vs Style is not what the Olympics is about.

Public interest in the Olympics is at an all time low, and athletes and fans alike have contempt for the way the Olympics is conducted
It would be best to just not have them anymore

I think it has to do with the fact that there is now too many sports and disciplines, probably included in an attempt to attract audience. I think it could easily be cut in half and it would probably be for the better.
Most people don't watch it for specific sports, but to root for their country's athletes, whatever they may be competing in. Debloating the schedule would be a massive improvement imo

That's not true

Just fix Judo just making "forbidden" moves OK again.
Make karate kumite semi contact.
Erase taekwondo altogether.

And we are good.

Karate was such a shitfest that it got canceled this year. Every part of karate is just a half-assed version of something another martial art does better. TKD is a better martial art and sport than karate, only weebs and mcdojo children will deny this.

the worst part is the KO was a total flop, it's clear to anyone that has ever actually watched a combat sport with knock outs he was faking it

Funnily enough Taekwondo is just a half assed version of karate

TKD surpassed Karate when they decided they were going to drop the ineffective blocks, shoddy punching and dumb kata. They waste way less time with things that don't work and made the entire sport about perfecting kicks in sparring. Atleast someone who learns TKD is actually perfecting a specialized skill in sparring rather than just doing kata they don't understand.

That might have been true 20 years ago. Go watch the olympics today tkd guys aren't even good at kicking anymore. Unironically Kyokushin karateka are better at literally all the spinny shit while also learning low kicks and thai style etc. Actually even random MMA fighters are better at spinning shit that olympic athletes in tkd today.
