For striking purposes, I like this movement better with bands/chains/other accommodating resistance. Single load across a the strength curve is better for certain throws and off balancing to leg trip movement. But it's also a bitch and a half to setup that way for most landmines, so just explode to the top end and resist on the down. Basically tempo reps, but in a ROM most people wouldn't think to do it.
