Hey I am trying to learn blender for moddelling. I have this very simple character, and in the simple view it looks fine to me but when I add sub divisons it completely falls apart.
I have seen other people in tutorials do this to a similar figure and it works fine.
Can you help me find out why it is so bad for me?

Don't spam.
Looks like you have topology issues, look for double vertices, non manifold, etc

This is the second time I have opened Blender, I made the donut following the tutorial and then made this, I do not really know what those mistakes are. I followed a tutorial for this fairly straightly but the end result is very different

You are definitely NGMI if you are unable to search simple terms in google.
Select al vertices in edit mode > press f3 > merge vertices

Thank you a lot anon, I will read about manifolds and leave a comment on the tutorial I followed about the solution

Your first problem is that your using Blender, the second is that your polymodeling which no one does anymore. Use Zbrush and sculpt.

select two vertices & press M for merge at center, I think. this should clear up double vertices.
