For other character's smiles. If you're sticking to premade morphs, don't apply 100% of the morph. Or mix and match. Most morphs were made with a specific character in mind.

Anonymous No. 875852

>>875849
yeah thanks I deleted it because used the wrong target. But I think the problem with the shizo looking grimace mask looking smiles is deeper in the geometry, or its the lack of muscles and craves of real faces.

Anonymous No. 875865

Pretty much, yeah. Vendors will make a smile morph with a target character in mind and sculpt what would (hopefully)look appropriate for muscle movement on that particular character. Usually quite awful when used on different character since Daz has such a broad range of goblins from semi reasonably proportioned to aeon soul anus-lipped nightmare bratz dolls.

NFTs are a money laundering ponzi scheme. 99% of NFTs are unlikely to be bought by anyone, especially if you aren't a gifted autist and/or are only getting into them now because the market is oversaturated.

NFT's used to have a base intrinsic value of ~$100-$200+ because it cost that much in Etherium gas fees to have one "minted". Since most artists are broke as fuck and unable to afford to enter into the NFT space, pretty much any of the limited NFTs available for purchase had the potential to become valuable due to scarcity. However, now that blockchains like SOL exist that allow you to mint NFTs either for free or for an extremely low price, any retard with Microsoft paint can print a fuckton of NFTs (which they are currently doing) which has completely oversaturated the market.

The end of this crypto cycle (not here yet imo but im not 100% certain, the market is sending mixed signals) will be the popping point of this nft bubble where shitty apes and pixel drawings collapse to $0, and a very small percentage NFTs maintain any value whatsoever. That being said, NFTs cost almost nothing (or literally nothing depending on where you mint them) to mint, so on the off chance your artwork somehow becomes popular, it can't hurt to have some of your works minted and put up on NFT hosting sites.

Your legs don't take 75% of the body. A shame. Real legs, I mean legs that are real, must take 75% of bodily proportion.

You laugh, but I met a 75% leg woman literally yesterday in the subway. It is physically possible. I've seen it. Genetically, it can happen, because she was there, right in front of me. So correct your legs. Longer legs mean bigger dicks. And those legs? Those aren't real legs. More like stumps.

There's no easy way to get animations into Daz onto the Genesis 8 figures, is there? Everything I've done gets horrible sliding feet or is just completely unusable

Anonymous No. 876508

>>876504
Daz is generally pretty awful for animation. Your issue may depend on what sort of animations you're importing. If they are made with the same generation in mind, it should still require minor tweaking because you probably wont be using a character proportioned exactly the same as the base Genesis character it was designed for. Taller, fatter, etc.

You should be able to import animations no problem into Daz Studio, editing said animations is an exercise in self-torture. Are the feet sliding something you're trying to clean up in Daz? If you're using mocap, why not use another software to clean up the animation then import it in Daz?

Why are most Animate2 tutorials about installing it and loading aniblocks? Installing couldn't be any easier same with putting in aniblocks.

It seems like everyone ignores the fact that you can make your own aniblocks with it and that it makes animating in Studio actually doable with some fun involved instead of disgusting you.
>can just hover with your mouse over some aniblock and the selected character will start showing that animation just like that
That is actually a killerfeature for me. Being able to instantly previewing animations you've made without any changes to the scene/setup anything and layering them too when you load them into Animate. I see almost no one talking about this which is strange.

Memoryuseage.jpg

Anonymous No. 877627

>>877623
render times depends on the scenes ofc but generally speaking:
Simply 1 character renders with no background take about 10-15 mins.
Large environments with multiple characters can take up to 1 hour.
My main issue with rendering is the ridicules way IRAY handles memory and the vram tax every none quadro have to pay (around 1 gig). I render all my stuff on a 2060 so a mid range last generation card. That means that I have to optimize a lot and cant really use many premade assets as the people who make them apparently do not care about performance at all. Its what drove me to do begin doing my own props, clothing, characters, hair and so on.
in pic related my stewardess outfit, hair, shoes and characters I could fit in on 1.3 gigs of vram. While if I load some standard clothing set, some off the shelf strandbased hair and some HD character I can look at 4-6 gigs of vram use for just a single clothed and haired model. Not really DAZ fault but it is something I just dont get why more people are not demanding: better performance means you get more work done and its easier to do iterations.

oh and if you use IRAY be careful what settings you have on your surfaces as its the bounce lighting that takes a lot of time. Spend your resources wisely and not on background stuff or having something like a 4k roughness map on some minuscule object. A lot of premade stuff comes with silly stuff like that and a 4k black PNG texture to control metallic (instead of just setting the value to 0...). Only use maps to control values if you need it.

Anonymous No. 877629

Every texture which is not skin should normally be resized from 2048x2048 to 1024 or even 512. Posed figures should be converted via inconvenient process to static props to strip unneeded morphs, saving hundreds of megs on each and dropping minutes from loading time. Unused props should be culled from scene. DAZ is GARBAGE as it provides no convenient methods for any of those and people who make assets for it are morons.

8.1 is 8 with reworked expression controls. Literally. So the old expression poses/morphs doesn't work, will not work, and there is very few 8.1 expression poses at this time. That's the point of 8.1, just 8 with expressions all fucked up.

Wait for three to four years. There will be 8.1 expression poses, probably, in two, three at most, years.

Hope you like the rolling run of catching up to the new version. I've been dealing with it for quite some times. Albeit, truly, 8.1 is only changing the face, it's not that bad.

That's all it is. A token. A proof that you bought a picture, utterly worthless by itself. Kinda like a Moon deed. My father has one. He finds it absolutely endearing, and don't take it seriously (of course), and it's stupid, but the right kind of stupid. Ironic endearment.

The issue, of course, is that, that shit is taken seriously. Probably because most people don't understand how crypto work, or they believe it will be the new Big Thing, or something like that. posing in daz fucking sucks cock. also don't use that tool for big adjustments, use the translation tool. it also pins.

You can export the Daz character to Blender

They're being exported with geoshells and I'm too low iq to figure out how to sew them together manually so as not to lose textures and stuff
But yeah sounds better than posing in daz

PREVIEWS-RENDER.jpg

Anonymous No. 880343

is there a way to AUTOMATICALLY save these little icon previews with exactly what's shown on the viewport (aka an iray preview) instead of the dull default "texture render"?

sometimes the default icon doesn't even show what the item really looks like rendered.

I save things and the previews look so ugly, I always have to screenshot and manually replace them one by one.

I just avoid using geoshells for anything I want to export out of Daz Studio. I'm sure there must be a tutorial for exporting them into blender somewhere in the depths of the internet.

Then I congratulate you for not being a coomer
Everyone knows what those geoshells are usually used for, and these are the vital parts of the body

I primarily use Daz Studio for it's easy to use morphing function so I can create characters to export into Unreal Engine.

Wait, I thought the easiest morphs were in blender where you can just sculpt whatever you want
You obviously know your stuff, but I just can't grasp how sliders can be more convenient than sculpting

Daz Studio has top tier posing capabilities BUT you need to enable them:

- first select all the bones in your character
- disable all limits
- unhide everything
- unlock all bones (careful with the twist bones as the X and Z rot need to be locked, or hidden, I don't remember which)
- use the universal translate tool, make sure you have a keyboard shortcut for adding pins (pins are just IK chain which Daz Studio creates on the fly and deletes on the fly, very useful)

Now you should be able to pose your character like in any other 3D program. There's a ton of enabled "options" the devs added on top for some reason that make the default setup unusable. Luckily enough they can be disabled. There are even way to create an IK solver for animation but it's a very roundabout way of doing it.

Use the Merge Attached Geometry feature in Daz Studio. It merges the geoshell geometry, removes the unwanted polygons, and merges the two skeletons together. It basically creates one figure out of however many items you attached to the Genesis figure.

Because Im an artlet and prefer using easily accessible ready made morphs created by actually somewhat competent 3D artists. It's a shame Daz's userbase is so coomer-centric because it is incredibly satisfying to use it as a humanoid creature creator.
