Is Armor paint at least better at texturing shit if you want to stay open sauce?

just get substance. going from blender to whatever these gayass freewares are called instead of mari or substance is like exchanging a rusty pink little girls tricycle with a shiny pink little girls tricycle instead of a fucking car.

Armor Paint is good enough, you will have to work a little harder but the tradeoff is it will never disappear, or suddenly charge you a new license and lock you out, and so on.
You could even, dare I say, get so good at it that when you see features in paid software you could implement your own iteration into the project and share it with others and they could refine it and then Armor would keep getting better and better.
PS. Always ignore the first few posts on /3/, especially if they're clearly low effort "No.", "Maybe.", "I don't know." type posts.

This looks like an image showcasing image projection, rather than giving an example of an end product.
This video is much better at getting an idea of what Armor Paint can and can't do
