A more interesting question is:
First assume we create a genetic therapy which humans to be "muscular by default" (perhaps by lowering the threshold of exertion needed to build muscle). If we then developed another genetic therapy which gave the ability to consciously switch between the "muscular by default" and "wild type" phenotype; How would we have the patient be aware of this ability and reach out to change it?

You realize those gorillas use their muscles everyday and eat constantly

Most modern men don’t do either of those

Natural selection in form of wars and high-risk manual labor jobs killing off most able-bodied males. This is the reason why people are less fit now and many are unable to pass fitness tests in the military.

Humans are specialized for tool usage, by default. That requires enhanced dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
This is why human muscles are intentionally weaker. The ratio of nerves that control muscles to muscle fibers is much higher in humans than gorillas.

Basically. Gorillas maxed the Strength stat, while humans maxed the Dex and Int stats.
