Hello anons. I am a turd worlder med student who happens to be SPD/Autist. In typical turd world fashion, the med schools take in 5 times the students it can handle with the result that only the ones with charm/connection/bootlicking learn the skills to be a competent doctor. I will never be one of them because of my mental illness and will have to look at a different line of work after med school/basic training(you can be a GP here without a residency/MD). You do have more free time than you think and there are other med students in the same boat. I know, it sounds cliche, but most medical folks tend to date other medical folks because they're the only ones that "understand" and have similarly wacky schedules.

That being said, lots of people get married and even have kids while in Med School. Where there's a Will, there's way. It's actually when you'll have relative peace and quiet. Trying to do those during Residency is Hell for you and everyone around you who you are inconveniencing.

Is she (pre) diabetic? Could be peripheral neuropathy, which is not good, but can be improved upon with physical therapy, exercise and the like, assuming she would do those in the first place.

The diminished mental faculty and dizziness may be due to lack of oxygen to the brain. This can happen from being too sedentary, or for any number of cardio-pulmonary reasons. The problem is that the worse she feels, the less she will want to move, which will only make things worth.

Check to see if there is any history of neuro disease in the family; Alzheimer's, dementia, etc...? If so, then there could be contribution factors other than poor lifestyle.

If you can get her to a doc, even a GP, they can get a blood oxygen level (should be above 95%, but 98/99% is best), as well as her blood pressure and test her balance and reflexes using a light pen/hammer, etc..., This will at least tell you if she's in the "normal" ranges, if not, then you can proceed accordingly.

Anything "neuro" you want to get on ASAP b/c we can't really "fix" or restore function once it's lost, but a little basic info will go a long way and won't require going to any sort of "specialist" initially. A good old fashioned "check up"/physical will tell you a lot.

Quit yer bitchin' and get in the game. You can learn to suture like a badass just using pig bellies. I've taught many a med student and resident to be as good as their instructors. It's not hard, you just have to practice and if you show with a few "cool" knots and closures under your belt, you will get major props from your peers and proctors. You learn your specialty and "how to be a doctor" in residency. Med School is just for learning all of the lingo, the Top 200 diseases and the drugs to treat them combined with clerkships to see what specialty you might want to go into, but the basics of setting bones, birthing babies, taking histories and performing physicals hasn't changed much over the years.

It's massive time sink when in school/res., and what little time you do have you have to actually get real world shit done, or sped it with your SO, or just fucking sleep.

Docs tend to be "Type A", so they have hobbies are literally athletic (tennis, gym, golf, etc...). They can kill two birds with one stone that way by getting some exercise, "networking" with bros and having fun.

Plus, once you start making a bit of money and have financial security becoming a "business person" is a lot more feasible and interesting, even fun. After about 10 years, you make more off investments than salary, so your interests become more business oriented, as well. It can be "fun" to "play" in real estate/stocks when you have a bit of "f-you" money. Not to mention the fact that you have to educate yourself on how money really works, or you'll lose it all to taxes.

They do the "fun", but it's big kid, big money, "competitive" fun. These were the straight A's in EVERY class since Middle School kids. They're not really into "frivolity" so much as achievement and pushing themselves to reach a "Goal". I mean, tons people pay lots of money to climb Mt. Everest b/c they think it's "fun" too.

Anonymous No. 16459302

>>16459156
Not really, simply b/c other kids don't have access to it, so it's a bit "unfair", but ABSOLUTELY TAKE THE CLASS!!!!

A&P is super awesome and you will learn more in one semester of that class than 3-4 of most others. By the time you get to Med School, you'll likely be able to help lead disection in the Cadaver lab and they may ask you to help with prosections of limbs and things like that for closer study. This is also a good time to find out if you're squeamish, or not.

The class can only help and will give you a bit of a leg up on others. Nothing earth shattering, but it can't hurt and it will show you're and eager beaver. You're likely to meet other cool nerdlings too.

Does anyone know of a way to cure gastritis? I've been suffering from it for about 18 months. It feels like someone ripped a piece of my back off and it's permanently raw and in pain every time I move. Biopsy was negative for H. pylori.Tried the following:
- PPIs: worsened my pain
- sucralfate: same as above
- changing my diet: still working through it, no improvements observed
- sulphoraphane: leaves me in pain for up to 3 days at a time
- L-glutamine: no effect
I've tried loads of supplements to varying degrees of failure. I've seen some people suggest ivermectin (not sure why) but I can't even get it because third world country + nanny state is my curse to bear.

Last time I felt anything close to recovery was a year ago when my old GP prescribed me about 6 days' worth cimetidine. I asked him for more, he said, "No, it's not good for you. Take omeprazole instead." Hurt me like you wouldn't believe.

Gonna go see another gastroenterologist this week. Any suggestions on what I should ask him so I find out how to fix this? Also, any ideas on what to do besides? I just woke up one day with this illness after taking some nsaids once and I've never healed. Please help me.

Remember when gay and trans were the tell-tale sign of being "Psycho"? Now, you're "crazy" if you AREN'T psycho.

Unless they have a gene, or lab result to prove their case molecularly, they have no proof at all.

i liked both the lawyer men and women. there was a woman there who looked like a bimbo but obviously she was very smart. there was another which had wide bottom trousers on, and they went over her shoes to the floor and hid her feets from me (not that i like feet). with her cloak on she looked beautiful. and another one who kept going past me only if i was looking (with her being there every day, and all of them probably talking, me being the weirdo guy) over and over, and walking really close to me
there was this male lawyer with nice eyes. he looked like a layer - LOOKED like one! his eyes were like that of a hawks. and he actually sat next to me! there were open chairs, and he walked outside, as he was between tasks, and ACTUALLY sat next to me while he was on the phone, and put his arm on the bench backplate stretched out to me with his legs crossed i mean one crossed over the other

Anonymous No. 16463234

and an update on the psychotherapist thing: they read my BMI (my height and weight), which i think is to do with them sneakily (everything psychologists do is sneaky) looking for a start to titration. i mention it because at that point i was *basically* fasting as i couldnt afford to eat food. i was slightly drunk though (not 500ml of vodka but half of a bottle of the big ones)
its fun because i think that frame of reference for him helped, because it is alcohol, and he could see my reaction to it. Robbie Williams says that "everyone is a functional drunk" however and i just like to walk into dangerous things. i still dont think its too bad - if you have a job - to work for 2 hours, come home and have a little bit of spirits every night. i used 1L as a frame of reference but you wouldnt have to drink that much. it wouldnt be so bad to come home from a job and buy a bottle of alcohol every day

Anonymous No. 16463235

i dont think that its too fair to look at my BMI for my metabolism and trying to gauge what sort of effect the drug will have on me, for how long, and what is a safe dose. it doesnt matter how much - or how little - i eat, i will remain the same weight. also i can eat A LOT of food in one sitting, probably more than you can. i think i cap out at around a half a pound of red meat and a pizza - or 3/4 a 16 or 18 inch pizza
doctor mike has made a video in the past about the flaws of BMI and its inaccuracies for when muscle is factored in, but the psychiatrist mentioned muscle wastage. the result that well i saw - losing a bit of a belly pouch and other negative body-image things, could of been what came out of my head translating the result from a loss of muscle to me being more satisfied
a lot of doctors on YouTube (my only point of reference outside of my country) have trained their arms a lot, and seem proud of it. they recognize the health (and mind) benefits of working out, and i feel as though a lot of them went to the arms straight away, and worked on them, became proud of the results, and gained a more positive body-image

Anonymous No. 16463236

one thing also is - and i didnt say, just in case someone is watching, and would think id do it and that would then ruin my chances of getting actual help where i can get something that makes me me "more here," able to do things, be more solid and not weighted down - is that it would be fun to have a gf, put diazepines on my tounge, so that they melt, and then spit the goo and my spit into her mouth
i bet it would be more readily absorbed and more bio-active, as well as being without any extended release they put in there
i just think that it would be hot to spit in their mouth when one of those have dissolved into it already

Anonymous No. 16463238

I just did but how do I get the bromelain into my system without the stomach searing acidity and tenderising enzymes of pineapple juice? I don't even know if it's what I need to help cure my condition and I'm really not in the place where I can afford the time and money to experiment with extravagant suggestions like. Where's the connection between nitrosamines, bromelain, and gastritis? I'm just looking for help or suggestions on how to adequately prepare what to ask my doctor on my upcoming consultation. Does noone here have actual experience with curing gastritis or know how it should be done?

but it isnt worth people coming here (to the internet) to get hurt - for people to get hurt - for that progress which probably wont mean a whole lot for that person getting injured or possibly even dying for what the anon hopes to gain
while those people who got hurt or had problems were having the things done to them that were the only options at the time

More than sufficient. Try me. What about you? What makes you assume your education is in any way interesting or impressive? I can all but guarantee you it is not.

Anything less than $40-$50/hr is an insult, and simply not worth the hassle. If you settle for peanuts now, you'll be eating peanut butter forever. You can afford this meger sum, can't you very rich and successful Doctor Anon, right? After all, you get what you pay for and you wouldn't want "help" that doesn't know its own true, market value would you?

"""Modern Western Culture""" doesn't exist. Hollywood, et. al. are just tacy Kikery. Nobody reads. Nobody listens to "real music" made by "real musicians". There are no painters or sculptors of note and "Modern Architecture" looks the same today as it did 100 years ago.....literally.

True Western Culture is ethnonationalistic, life-affirming, nature-admiring, rational and militaristic(in the sense of fighting against aggression/invasion and overcoming adversity in all its forms, personal and professional).

"The West" no longer exists and hasn't since the end of WWI, which ushered in the "Modern", "Globalist" paradigm(i.e. League of Nations, Central Banks, etc...)

Script Flip:

Who are you? What is your "level of education"? What is your specialty/pay? What is your """ethnicity"""?

Never bullshit a bullshitter, Son. I'll know if you're lying ;)

Anonymous No. 16468275

Do you know what specialty you want to go into yet, or at least which ones you don't want to go into?

Start talking to folks in those departments and offer to be their bitch. Your "professional networking" is officially underway. It really is all about who you know and not what you know, so meet as meany real humans in real life as you can. You never know when it will pay off down the line and it show you actually give a damn and are a go getter, which is what folks really want to see. Nobody cares about your test scores, but if you are a hard worker, people will notice.

Start working on living arrangements for Residency. Moving sucks so have plenty of money ready, get rid of all your excess shit and be willing to move far away if need be. Chances are you'll have to move several more times before you're done with Residency and are settled down somewhere too, so don't become a hoarder. Live simply and avoid clutter. You don't want to come home to a crazy, cluttered house every day either.

Beg, schmooze, let people know you're available for ANYTHING. Something will pop up even if it's outside your specialty, you'll learn something cool and have some new stuff for you CV.

P.S.

Start learning about money NOW! Even EU docs make decent money and you'll need to know what to do with it so the Banking Jew and the Govt. Jew don't take it all from you. Once you have a plan, you can easily become a millionaire within 10 years, then you're just living off investments.

>numerous edgy teenagers who were also dropped off at the peds ED by school counsellors after suspecting suicidal ideation, which the teen will always deny, but is now stuck in the psych ward because parents don't want to commit to bringing their kid to therapy or because the teen will flip-flop on having suicidal ideation for the attention
>caregiver burnout with severe autism spectrum and down syndrome children
>many teenage girls being screened for gender dysphoria and the family drama that comes with it
Because most psych drugs are still varied for safety in kids, most cases are entirely dependent on the child/teen's willingness and openness in speaking with the therapists for social skills training, CBT, family group discussion, and doing other activities, and with of the above cases, it rarely goes as planned. Many are frequent flyers as they are discharged with the parents promising to adhere to therapies but often fail at them. I miss internal med.

Though not much different to adults. Most are hopeless cases as well.

i have this thing sometimes where when i go from inhaling to exhaling, there's a soft "click" that seems to be coming from behind my nose. it's just one and only when i stop inhaling and start exhaling. it's also intermittent. it'll happen for maybe 15 minutes and then stop.
i was hanging out with a friend and i noticed theirs did it to, so it's an audible thing.
what could this be? i imagine it's like a flap or something snapping closed but i don't know the architecture of the breathing system.

nah. entirely new software to get used to along with new and different arrangement of tests that need to be compared to the place i was at before. i should get used to it in a week, but this attending wants so much superfluous testing that its tough to remember all of it.

Hypothyroidism, roughly speaking. The thyroid isn't working as it should so your brain pumps more TSH to stimulate it.
