They (along with some others) have the standard version that came out a couple of years ago, but SRC just released the Tactical version very recently and AFAIK they don't sell the barrel and sights separately
(Also, the one sold on 007 is overpriced by like 85-90 bucks - IIRC at some point they put some extra text claiming it to be a "special edition" but I don't think they've ever actually given specifics on *what* makes it special, just claiming some parts were swapped without providing evidence of such things)

SRC's USP is apparently built extremely well compared to their other offerings, is just about entirely 1:1 compatible with TM parts (to the point that I've seen a mention or two of people literally just buying SRC USPs to use as parts guns for their TMs), has metal externals OOTB, and being able to buy a TM-spec USP Tactical straight-up for $105USD (which I'd imagine would probably turn to at least $200-220CAD upon being imported) instead of having to track down a Tactical slide and barrel kit
The ability to use CO2 seems neat as well, but I think I'm more interested in that based on the idea of "if it's overbuilt to allow CO2 usage, that means buying a bunch of gas mags will make it last longer"
Only drawback is no markings, which I will admit sucks a tiny bit from an aesthetic point of view, but if I ever really feel the need to have full markings, *then* I can just track down a slide and barrel set

>>138223
Good to know, I'll consider asking one of the retailers currently stocking them since AFAIK Andy's won't be able to help me due to the thing not being in stock on Evike or Redwolf (and it probably won't ever be, considering Redwolf stocks exactly zero SRC products and Evike wouldn't dare bring in actual competition to Umarex/H&K-licensed guns)

what issues do you experience in cold temperature? low fps? tm makes guns for the japan market where the weather is warmer, so their guns are usually lower fps out the box. isnt there an aftermarket NPAS nozzle you could install? if its not cycling well, installing a weaker recoil spring/lighter buffer will definitely help. i'm not 100% on what you do if you struggle with light striking (hammer doesnt hit the mag's gas valve hard enough) but putting less gas in the mag can help.

Anonymous No. 138343

I have an MWS and a VFC FAL. I've got no issues running them either in stock configuration on gas that's like 80% propane.

Even still in a GBBR most of the gas is used to cycle so if you're having issues throw an NPAS in and get a weaker recoil spring

I bought knee pads because I'm a cheap bastard and didn't wanna damage my pants when sliding around like a fat fucking beyblade.

Anonymous No. 138807

>>138801
Unless you know exactly what to buy regular kneepads might end up sliding down or just be uncomfortable. I have some super basic cheap ones that worked well for me though so you definitely don't have to buy the most expensive shit. Other than that they also work as dirt shovels if you're crawling around a lot.
Combat pants with slide in or whatever kneepads can be annoying depending on the pads and the pants. I've had mine halfway pop out a couple of times which isn't optimal.
Fully built in kneepads seem like a nice idea but I haven't tried it.

This guy has the right idea, which is "IT DEPENDS". I've gone through several types of kneepads through the years, in airsoft, sports, work, etc... it takes a while to find one that works for you AND the activity you're doing.

Built-in is nice if you put in the soft padding inserts IMHO. They stay where they are, but I wouldn't go sliding around on them. Just nice knee protection without having to put much thought. You also don't have to pay $20 or whatever outrageous price companies want to charge for them. Get yoga mat foam and cut out your pattern of preference.

That being said, I prefer separate knee pads for airsoft. I tend to go hard and need a nice sturdy cap.

Canadian Retailers

Asia Retailers

Europe
>Taiwan Gun (one of my favorite retailers)
>Evike Europe (Evike just Euro)
>powair6
>gunfire.pl
>skirmish shop
>highpressureairsoft
>patrolbase
>emperion

Direct from manufacturer
>Classic Army (Huge warning on shipping/delivery, I have an order from December of last year that has still not arrived)
>KWA
>Mancraft
>Silverback
>PolarStar Airsoft
>Wolverine Airsoft

As for knock off gear
>emerson
>Idogear (my kinda go to, sells on amazon)
>LBX (Its LBT but made in South America)

For optics I suggest just getting real rifle optics and then a lens protector like the hugger ones for T1/T2/Holosuns.

airsoft bb's are not rifled
rifled, so we know were on the same page, is when threads are put on a barrel to increase accuracy of a gun. an airsoft rifle has a smoothe bore barrell and a hop up. airsoft guns can be accurate, but you probably already know that windage and hop up over distance can easily change trajectory of a shot

I wanna get an M4 GBBR with plans to get another upper. I'll have one upper in a mk18 block ii configuration, the other in a honey badger config.
Looking for a rifle in the price range between $500-$1000
Milsim is important to me, so i'm interested in realistic internals. A realistic bolt carrier is a must. All to simulate field stripping and cleaning.
I have my eyes on a RA-TEC level 1 custom work WE M4 CQBR for $710.
I understan WE doesn't have the best rep among you guys but I was always under the impression RA-TECH upgrades are important to improve WE reliability.
I'm open to TM and VFC suggestions as I understand their quality stands well and above that of WE but I don't have any knowledge on them to make a decision for myself.

High Pressure Air - refers to pneumatic airsoft guns which use either electronic or mechanical trigger units (usually electronic, though some budget HPA setups use mechanical triggers - PDiK/Kythera, for instance) alongside what are usually external air tanks attached by a hose as a means of propelling BBs, usually designed as gearbox replacements for AEGs
Benefits include airtanks lasting a long time before needing refills (which is usually cheap/free), the ability to quite effectively suppress HPA guns since the only sound made is air leaving the muzzle, the use of AEG magazines and non-gearbox parts, and the ability to tune your gun much more easily to meet field limits than most AEGs/GBBRs
Drawbacks include the fact that hoseguns typically require you to carry a normally-heavy air tank on your body while the hose can mess with handling in certain situations (this can be remedied by using CO2 buffertubes for AR-platform rifles in the form of things like the Wolverine Wraith and Polarstar CGS, though those require semi-frequent CO2 replacement), the up-front cost of HPA conversions, full-auto capable engines without the ability to adjust ROF shoot a bit too fast for some people's liking, joule-creep with heavier weights of BBs can make your gun shoot harder than you might want it to/than your field allows, and the overall issue of being stuck with a stigma due to bad actors at fields that don't mandate tournament locks on regulators will crank up regulators once they've cleared chrono, thus resulting in them shooting way too hot while being harder to detect without chrono spot-checks
TL;DR gun uses airtank to shoot, easier to fine-tune than AEG gearbox and has various other benefits but shitters use them to cheat chrono/magdump people sometimes and tanks can be inconvenient, whether or not you use them is up to you and I can see the reasons people do use them but don't be that guy that shows up to a field with a P*'d budget AR and magdumps people

That said, I've literally bought like 50,000 BBs from Hong Kong not just because the price was decent, but mainly to get the free shipping on otherwise pricy shipping.

And to throw gas on the fire, most of the time, when HPAfags talk about their gear, they mainly want to brag about how many RPS they get while maintaining some outrageous FPS. To me, that just speaks volumes on what they value in the sport.

I paint them in my tiny garage currently. Just lay newspapers and prop a gun case in front of the airsoft gun being painted. That way, people driving by just see a random gun case with way too many stickers (and me sitting in the corner waiting for paint to dry). I'd ask your local field/arena if you could do your spray paints there. And just do light strokes, heavy paint coats can look sloppy. It's all a learning experience.

Also, I took my FAL out to the field, and damn, it was so fun. Did pretty alright with it too.

And lastly, I have a black AUG that I want to spraypaint green for a NZ kit. Is spraypainting it worthwhile or should I just trade it/sell it and buy one that is the right color, do you guys think?

My first gun was a springer Galaxy Barrett M82A1 (g31) and it was total shit. I couldn't even take it to the field out of shame. Then I got the JG G36C which helped me absolutely DOMINATE all of my friends which had beginner guns as well (cyma old M4, cybergun M4, cyma 077).
But now most of us upgraded to top shit like E&L, LCT, Cyma plats or upgraded their old shit to modern standards.
My current primaries are the LCT AS VAL with real NPZ SVD scope, Cyma platinum 098 (MK11 MOD 0) and now my new AK-12 Perun that I'm slowly adding Zenitco drip to.
You'll know what to get when you get used to stuff.

Rule number one of brick-and-mortar stores is that the guy behind the counter wants to make a sale, and doesn't always have your best interests at heart, instead only caring to sell whatever's on the shelf to whoever's looking for something
That being said, here's hoping you got a good one, to explain why LT gets a lot of flak, LT's quality control kinda nosedived after the Gen2s started getting popular which resulted in a lot of guns breaking repeatedly - but it should still hopefully serve you for a decent bit regardless, and V2 AEG internal parts are extremely common so should something break, parts are easy to find and most techs should be able to help you
>>143667
And to answer this question, you'll know when something breaks because the gun won't work; the only way in theory to check for poor QC before then would be to basically crack open the gearbox and inspect the individual parts by hand, but I wouldn't recommend doing that to your first gun
Run it until it breaks, then find a tech who can hopefully help you unbreak it and probably make it better than when you got it in the first place (and/or replace it with something like a Specna EDGE, if you just want something that works then and there)
Overall though, welcome to the hobby, and I hope you have fun with your gun

you want something with a snappy trigger response and possibly upgrade the motor and internal gears and either upgrade or downgrade the fps in accordance with your local fields rules. like i said i think they are setting you up for success, but its something you should consider sooner than later. maybe not this season, but in a few months. go out and airsoft with it first.

Not sure what you're getting at. I agree that upgrading is part of the hobby. If you're referring to my suggestion of waiting to upgrade, it's in response to the newbie question of "What do I upgrade??" If you don't know, then wait and see. Obviously a broken part is in dire need of upgrading. But when you get better and can evaluate your own performance, you figure out which way you need to tweak your gun, then spend accordingly.

its super snappy with its trigger response. its a ok gun stock. but if you buy some premium parts it will be a nice lightweight gun that is better than more premium brands for similar pricing. spent about 400. thats basically the price of a high end premium brand stock.

I like that the foam darts are "tactile", I guess it's just more mechanical for me - if I do get more into airsoft, it'll definitely be a bolt action or revolver - but loading BBs are like playing with beads to me, too small and finicky.
I like how "mechanical" Nerf guns are.
So cheap, so moddable.

Then just get a gas blowback airsoft gun or play paintball.

Wanted to do paintball, all arenas, even when you bring your own crap, cost $65 - 70 a day, and are all a minimum hour's drive away.
Really consumer-friendly birthday-party sort of deal, no casual / fun stuff for hobbyists / amateurs.

Maybe gas blowback - any way to use HPA (have a mighty compressor at home shop), or are you stuck buying CO2/greengas?

You need a special compressor for HPA

A shame.
I might build an airsoft gun out of wood and PVC, for fun then.
The stuff on the shelves is just too fancy for me, and if I can't do HPA without a $700 compressor, well, shucks, I can't do HPA/blowback at all.
