Why not? I mean if the head of the FAA decided to fly somewhere during their vacation time no one would care. Hopefully space travel will someday become just as routine.

Do you really think he will die during a Polaris mission accident? Three other people would also be killed, assuming its Dragon again. And if he dies, who cares, Elon (via Trump) will simply assign someone equally as based to step in seamlessly, and double down on risk taking. Its what NASA was always supposed to do, be even braver than the most daring military test pilots.
He is setting the BEST possible example, actually doing missions while leading the organization who's ONLY job is to do missions...

can someone explain something about Starlink to me? does the Starlink company "pay" SpaceX for their launches?
According to wiki, "Starlink Services, LLC (a wholly-owned subsidiary of SpaceX)" and apparently subsidiaries are legally separate entities for tax purposes. Does this mean it would even be legal to do it for free? or does Elon just move his money from one account to another?

but funny that someone that is basically a bureucrat (in the position he would be in at that moment) going to do unprecedented astronaut missions
I mean this is like probably the best thing ever, Jared is 100% aligned with Musk and has a personal interest in spaceflight progressing as well

ABM systems (do you even know what those letters stand for?) do not protect you from cruise missiles. Comprehensive cruise missile defense is completely impractical. Perfectly defending a country from counter-value nuclear strikes cannot be done, and even one nuclear strike against a coastal city succeeding is more than enough deterrence to maintain peace.

Intercompany transactions happen all the time. Starlink and SpaceX will pay each other back and forth. If it makes sense they can set whatever terms they like with one another. The tax money will ultimately wash out one way or another. If the companies are sufficiently close together, a CPA might determine it necessary in an audit to basically combine the entities in an individual audit. At that point inter company transactions between two closely affiliated entities are eliminated. It will also all be explained in the notes.
