Time for Handegg Colleg Playoffs almost, Basketball has started, and the Olympics are less than a year away! Time to draw some sports things and sports accessories.

Hi. I'm considering plans for learning how to draw. Which do you think would be best:
1) Imitating speed draws and getting good from purely experience
2) Reading books on fundamentals, then using image references to draw. I have a free year to practice so I'd have the time to do just about anything you can think of
