Let's have a thread to discuss the various moons of Sol.
Which is your favourite?
Which of the gas giants' satellite systems would you like to explore first?
Which ones do you think would be most suited for future human bases?

I get a 10% discount at work
I also have a way to buy gift cards at 6% off
So say an item is $100, I can get it for $90, but then I can buy $90 gift cards for just $84.60, so the $100 item only costs me $84.60.
How can I easily calculate the cost of an item without having to do two steps?
I thought it would be (cost of item) * 0.84 (16% off) but obviously that isn't correct.

I was born in Virginia. I'm guessing my DNA was taken and stored in a database, and the dried blood sample has probably been destroyed already. I'm wondering if there's a way to get access to the recorded genome, if it still exists somewhere 'cause I think it would be cool to compare it to my current DNA to see what changed. Anyone know if this is possible?
🧵 How long for Haldol to leave brain?
Anonymous at Wed, 17 Jul 2024 01:51:53 UTC No. 16284397
Hey everyone, I recently came off my Haloperidol 30mg dosage 1 month and 11 days ago after leaving the psychiatric hospital and I still don't feel stimulation from stimulants like caffeine. This probably means that the Haloperidol that I had accumulated in my brain for the last 6 months as it stabilized as a function of excretion and the last dosage, is still probably in my brain.
Does anyone know how long I will have to wait until the Haloperidol is out of my brain so I can start taking stimulants again?
For further context, I did this in 2022 after leaving the psychiatric hospital staying there for 1 year. I was on 20mg of Aripiprazole and 20mg of Haloperidol taken daily for 1 year and then I went cold turkey on September 6th, 2022 after I left the hospital.

🧵 Imagine being the most talented mathematician alive
Anonymous at Wed, 17 Jul 2024 00:55:34 UTC No. 16284327
Imagine being the most intelligent person, the best at mathematics, doing university level calculus before the age of 10, now if you were this person, what would be your number 1 goal in life, your number one dream, the thing that you found the most mesmerizing, the most important, especially being the greatest mathematican ever?
The thing that you would find to be the most important in life is whether or not there are infinitely many 3s and 5s.
This is clearly the question of our time, and definitley not a waste of intelligence, talent, time, and priorities.

🧵 Why aren't I an ant?
Anonymous at Tue, 16 Jul 2024 20:54:00 UTC No. 16284069
There are a billion ants for every one human, so statistically speaking, I should find myself being an ant rather than being a human, unless there is some reason which makes it impossible to find myself being an ant. Since I don't, this suggests that there isn't really such a thing as finding yourself being an ant. Nobody finds themselves as an ant because ants don't have any conscious experience.
I feel inspired to extend the same logic to the question of why I happen to find myself to be a particularly intelligent, imaginative human, rather than a stupid and unimaginative human. The latter outnumbers the former by a thousand times, so statistically speaking I should expect to find myself being one of the latter, but I don't. The way I see it, I'm either one member of a small subset of humans who experience godlike consciousness and the rest don't at all, or I just have a thousand times more consciousness than average which makes it that much more likely to find myself inside this body in each instant.
What do you think on this?
