𧡠How much does low IQ truly impair a person?
Anonymous at Fri, 8 Nov 2024 07:51:27 UTC No. 16466905
I often think about how many low IQ people there are in the world. For every person that's 110iq, there's one that's 90iq. For every person that's 120iq, there's one that's 70iq. A whole 15% of the population is 85iq or lower.
If these people are so common, how do they function? Does being 80iq really prevent someone from thinking in abstract terms?

𧡠Thin hair
Anonymous at Fri, 8 Nov 2024 04:41:52 UTC No. 16466804
Scandinavians are notorious for (amongst other things) having extremely thin hair, they have the thinnest hair of all of the races.
If they were left to evolve on their own without interacting genetically with any other race would they eventually evolve to be completely bald?
And doesn't it seem weird that the people in one of the coldest locations evolved to have the thinnest hair?

Anonymous at Fri, 8 Nov 2024 03:59:46 UTC No. 16466768
As someone who is primarily interested in gene expression and modification, what would be the most efficient study route to dive into personal research? I'll be primarily focusing on modification of in vivo reproductive development, that of the ovotestis tract and tangential areas.
I'd rather not take a few textbooks to the face when most the content will be irrelevant to my very specific focus, so any guidance would be much appreciated.
I'm also interested in building a relatively inexpensive, small home biolab for projects, if anyone has expertise or a link to some. I do have access to facilities currently, but won't soon, due to extenuating circumstances.

Anonymous at Fri, 8 Nov 2024 00:17:27 UTC No. 16466614
If psychiatry isnt real how come some people have been to the psych ward multiple times and have real psychiatry issues like legit schizophrenia and bipolar disorder that cause serious non meme issues? I have a relative who has mania that causes him to legit not sleep for days and even when he gets admitted and pumped with drugs doctors can't even get him to sleep no matter what drug they pump with him for days and days and they have to try a cocktail of drugs over the course of a week until they find some random shit that works lol.
And every time it has to be a new one like he is on #7 for psych ward visits and Depakote, trazadone, Seroquel etc etc worked and they have to keep trying new ones each visit because the last ones stop working. Explain this /sci/?

ποΈ π§΅ A question about Heisenberg's uncertainty principle
Hale at Thu, 7 Nov 2024 14:56:19 UTC No. 16466036
Before asking the question i wanted to point out that i'm not a physics student, so this may be a dumb one, so please don't roast me. I'm studying the first year of biology.
While studying the quantum physics chapter of general chemistry i wondered why we need ligt to find the position of a particle. I've red that heinsenberg's uncertainty princible depends on the fact that you can observe a particle only by shining a photon on it. Low frequency photons can get few details on the position because they have a high wavelenght while high frequency ones can give a good idea on the position while disturbing its momentum.
Don't particles have masses? why cant we study their positions by relevating their gravity force with three sensors? Or maybe trough their magnetic fields (if they have one)?
What are the alternatives to light?

/sci/ bros , I am a bit retarded, but I can't get this out of my head at all, so I want to ask anyone who has a brain about this
about 2? years ago now, a scientist was experimenting with casimir effect geometries, and he found a geometry that created a "warp bubble" in shape, granted this is most likely coincidence, I couldnt stop thinking about it, my autism just keeps going back to it.
So, my question, the "dynamical casimir effect" seems to be some inherit force acted on bodies that move in a vacuum, it's still being researched heavily, what would happen if we:
A: created a repeating micro geometry (relevant one pictured) on a conductive cylindrical surface that we then
B: moved the geometry rapidly through alternating magnetic fields (in this case a ring with it imprinted on the surface rotating quickly) so
C: the geometry flexes repeatedly "shrinking" and "expanding" the volume where the casimir effect occurs?
I'm sure this does nothing, but maybe there's something to it? Like I said for whatever reason I keep thinking about this specific scenario
Thanks bros
