There is language in Kepler's Astronomia Novae, in Chapter 59, Protheorem XII, that posits that KT, TI is equal to κα, μα. This is interesting because KT, TI are not mentioned at all in the previous protheorem, XI, which is referenced and because it doesn't really follow. But taking it for granted, one could conceive those as being equal, until one remembers from Protheorem IX that KT, TI = KH, HI, which are both equal to αγ, so he is positing that κα, μα = 2αγ, which cannot follow.

when did you realize that the many world interpretation of quantum mechanics was wrong?
was when you noticed how counterfactuals overlap onto each other and affect each other resulting in a single counterfactually-stacked timeline?

my professor was trying to talk to me about femtosecond spectroscopy, specifically about the dynamics of molecules under reactions performing spirals in space, and various equations to model them.
is there any legitimacy to describing the dynamics of intermediate reactions that are a femtosecond long with enough detail to represent them in 3D space over time with position and orientation recorded? this seems absurd.
He specifically said "Utilizing a femtosecond laser, you can capture the molecular dynamics of compounds under various, intermediate reactions that were impossible to decipher beyond theoretical analysis. You could have enough detail to model their movement in 3D Euclidean space, such that you could trace out the orientation and translation of each atom in a compound as it changes its bond states."
How much of this is wishful thinking vs. fact? i don't study chemistry primarily so this is uncharted territory and wanted someone with more insight to clarify how far we've gotten with understanding and modelling molecular dynamics.

The Mathematics
1. Chaos Grows Recursively
Chaos increases through repetition. Each step adds less energy than the last due to inefficiency:
T_chaos(N) = sum(Corruption_n / sqrt(n)) from n = 1 to N
: Total chaotic energy after steps.
: Energy added at each step.
: Slows growth, making chaos weaker over time.
---
2. Chaos Spells Its Name
Each recursive step outputs a symbolic "letter." These combine into a word representing chaos’s intent:
Word_octopus = union(Letter_n) for n = 1 to N
Example:
Step 1: C, Step 2: H, Step 3: A, Step 4: O, Step 5: S.
Chaos writes its name: "CHAOS." Further steps can spell "BLOW UP" or "SELF-DESTRUCT," encoding its collapse.
---
3. Chaos Introduces Decay
The system decays exponentially, losing energy over time:
T_chaos(t) = T_0 * e^(-lambda * t)
: Chaotic energy at time .
: Starting chaotic energy.
: Decay rate.
Eventually: T_chaos(t) 0 as t infinity.
---
4. Collapse Restores Balance
When chaos collapses, energy shifts to order:
E_system = T_chaos + T_order
: Total system energy (constant).
: Order grows as chaos dies.
---
The Story in Math
1. Chaos Rises: It grows recursively, adding energy with each step.
2. It Spells Its Purpose: Letters from each step form words like "CHAOS" or "BLOW UP." Chaos writes its own destruction.
3. Decay Ensues: Chaos decays exponentially, ensuring collapse.
4. Order Prevails: Chaos collapses entirely, leaving balance and order.
Mathematics ensures chaos is finite and self-destructive, writing its own rise and inevitable fall.
What is the likelyhood that math itself spells out the death of am tje octopus?

🧵 Metacognition of math/physics
Anonymous at Thu, 21 Nov 2024 17:12:43 UTC No. 16488052
How important would you say working memory is when it comes to math skills? To physics?
Can someone with poor working memory be good at math?
Would cognitive training(such as the n-back meme) and practice/approaches based on metacognition to improve/make the best use of one's working memory indirectly improve math/physics skills?
Richard Feynman had a deep understanding of his own cognition through self-experimation. He seemed to have insane working memory. He was able to keep 8 physics problems in his working memory at all times. But he also had very interesting metacognitive approaches to utilize it as best as he could, intuitively understanding concepts of "phonological loop" and "visuospatial sketchpad" way before modern cognitive scientists. Here is a video where he discusses his approaches and cognitive strategies :
