The atomic radious of an element gets smaller in a period because the electrons are subject to a greater pull from the nucleus. Then why the atomic radious of oxygen (element 8, 66pm) is smaller than fluorine's (element 9, 71pm). I think it's the only exception to the previously mentioned principle, and it makes no sense to me.
𧡠OCD is a neurodevelopmental disorder
Anonymous at Tue, 26 Nov 2024 10:30:35 UTC No. 16493910
>EO might be considered the neurodevelopmental subtype of OCD. Indeed there is evidence that different clusters of symptoms and dimensions at an early stage predict different trajectories in phenotype and that distinct neurocircuit pathways underpin the progression of the disorder. Despite the development of high refractoriness in the course of the disorder, evidence suggests that EO may be particularly treatment responsive in the early stages, thus showing the need for early recognition and additional recovery oriented studies in this subgroup.
>Consistent with the neurodevelopmental perspective, immunity and glutamate neurotransmission are emerging as novel pathways for parsing out the neurobiology of OCD, the EO form, in particular, supporting the implementation of new multisystemic models of the OCD phenotype. Brain connectivity patterns, immune and microbiome profiles are standing out as promising areas for biomarkers with the potential for targeted personalized therapies in EO.

There was probably no beginning of time. The timeline never ends in the future, but the future hasn't happened yet.
So, we're perpetually stuck in the present forever with an infinity that never changes both behind and ahead of us.
This is the nature of time in a 3 dimensional model.

Is it possible to use the CMB as a reference point to define the orientation of Earth? Has someone done this?
Or are there already preestablished universal coordinates/angles that show how the Earth moves in space? Where can I find out current position/orientation in terms of that?

I'm realizing something. Tell me if I'm wrong but. Maybe I only need 1 drink of alcohol, to produce an effect that lasts the whole night, I don't need to keep adding to it with subsequent drinks. Actually most of the problems with alcohol come from adding more drinks, when 1 drink (a decently big one) is all that is needed. Thoughts?

𧡠So what exactly are these ufos?
Anonymous at Tue, 26 Nov 2024 04:05:00 UTC No. 16493695
1. What is your best idea of what these objects are? My guess used to be experimental military aircraft. Hell maybe most of them still are advanced air force aircraft. But I'm not so sure anymore.
2. Why is the military secretly hiding the fact that they were recording these objects? They apparently illegally used money for this program and congress is mad about it.
3. Why did they violate federal law and not inform the big 8? The big 8 are suppossed to see all black budget things and know everything including top secret material. They weren't informed but now they kind of are. Marco Rubio and Gaetz mention seeing secret images. Both are convinced it's not human.
4. Watching all the testimony from congress has me all hot and bothered. The fact that Chuck schumer tried to pass a bill that would disclose everything and failed to pass bothers me too. What do you guys thinks of these ufos and how the government is reacting to it?
𧡠SOMBRERO GALAXY UPDATE
Anonymous at Tue, 26 Nov 2024 03:44:57 UTC No. 16493664
One of the most iconic hubbel telescope images has gotten a webb revamp recently. Here it is. I love seeing huge stellar masses like this with the light of the galactic center shining off of them. It produces a strange sense of scale that only emerges when abstract cosmological ideas are made knowable in human terms. Like when you see the moon in the sky and can see the little craters on the surface, the shadows projected on its surface, and so on. It gives you just the smallest sense of the true scale of the solar system. The planets, in that moment, are made more real than any astrology class could ever make them.
I'm not sure how to describe this feeling.

I think I'm autistic, I am starting to see it. I have always been high IQ. All throughout school I have always been applauded by teachers for my academic work and interesting insight. I've always noticed it myself too, I tend to analyze very well, pick out parts of works and show why a certain argument may or may not be true and etc. I also have always liked to organize things logically and started out in early work drawing very geometric drawings and etc. I also have a great memory and I'm almost always accurate. The odd parts are that I have trouble making friends and I have trouble talking sometimes. Just now I was on the phone and I straight up sound autistic, with words having difficulty coming out. The few friends I had I lost because I tend to make extremely funny jokes about everyone upon meeting with them and I think this has scared off people trying to be "normal" friends. And if comfortable enough I turn each and everyone I know into a comedy show only for myself and clown everyone. Never really interested in girls. Anyway I graduated two years early from high school and decided to try chemistry at community college with aim to do a Ph.D after 4-years. Over the first semester I started from totally confident and on task, getting A's in everything. I was suddenly stricken with paranoia and anxiety.
𧡠Allergies and Immune system
Anonymous at Tue, 26 Nov 2024 01:46:56 UTC No. 16493588
Would a child have a stronger immune system (I want to have a kid) if they had breast milk from multiple mothers, or were raised in a certain way?
I have MS and had arthritis as a young kid, but no allergies. My siblings all had allergies, and we all have immune system issues. I assume that's mostly genetic, but maybe I'm wrong, and it's diet/a combo.
Maybe it's better for me to not have a kid of it's genetic, but it's kind of hard to look back across time at my family tree and self prune when maybe I can do things to help.
>sidenote, how do you fix your immune system if it's attacking your own body, or how best to prevent your kids from having issues, assuming were not talking about genetics, and were talking about diet/environment?

Do you believe in telegony? If it's only on an epigenetic level, I'm kind of fine with it. As I am with the proven microchimerism through pregnancy. But the thought of microchimerisms potentially occurring as consequence of unprotected vaginal sex alone makes me depressed. Though if I had to guess I'd say only the former two cases are likely to be real.

𧡠destiny and statistics
Anonymous at Mon, 25 Nov 2024 23:29:06 UTC No. 16493459
Nothing is "truly" random, there are an infinite amount of interdependencies and variables, that if we could measure, we could use to make a proper prediction.
RNGs use algorithms, so in a way someone yelling a random number would be closer to a "true" random... Unless we have a set seed?
Studying statistics has really impacted my perspective on autonomy. I mean, I feel like I know nothing. Is God all-knowing because he's God or is he God because he is all-knowing?
All this is to say, are there mathematical concepts that favour destiny being a driving force in the universe? Sorry if this is the wrong board, I thought it'd be fine bc I saw a thread about ted on top.

Side effects: Can cause nausea, digestive issues if taken on empty stomach
Addiction potential: Not considered addictive
Withdrawal: No significant withdrawal effects
Takes 8-12 weeks to show full benefits
